Re: TPS Mystery

Have you tried a stock chip to see if it IS in the TT chip? Or if the issue is somewhere in the truck itself?

I want to thank all of you guys for taking the time to post suggestions. I've learned a lot about things that could potentially cause this type of problem. I'm hoping that Eric can work his magic on clearing this up, and that way I won't have to waste a bullet on shooting out the light.

BTW, does anybody have a stock chip that they'd like to sell. I'd like to have one laying around for troubleshooting purposes.

I made the same mistake. Take the brown chip carrier off the Turbotweak board and install it in the ECM. You're now back to stock. But if you have a 3bar MAP it will run like crap. It must be 2bar. Also if the injectors are not stock that probably won't help either. :( HTH

Re: TPS Mystery

I received your datamaster files, and you are indeed meeting the conditions in the chip to set code 21. There's nothing necessarily wrong with your truck, I just have the conditions set too tight. Your idle TPS setting is up at .94v, which is higher than I have seen (but not necessarily wrong), so it's more easily setting the code.
My apologies for all the work you put into trying to fix it! I will get you fixed up.

RealFast. I'm seeing the IAC typically at 22-23 at idle, in park. I thinks this is nominal for the Velosyty chip.

Re: TPS Mystery

Eric's book says around 25-30 is preferred. Is your throttle stop screw still plugged? It's semi tricky to get it right. I adjust, bump the throttle, then wait for things to settle. Repeat as necessary. Getting it right will help but you're fairly close so hard to tell. Back off the screw (torx) to increase IAC position.

It seems I've seen where he, Eric, prefers it closer to 30. I could be wrong.
