um....trans break will be very hard on your driveline. BH has the brakes so give him a call...

Yeah the transbrake is cool but you have to build up your tranny quite a bit otherwise it will simply blowup at the line. Were you thinking of a rebuild or didn't think it would take a rebuild to handle a transbrake?

Brian,
i got a 700r4 with a lot of goodies inside plus a shift kit
All the parts came from art carr two years ago and i made the tranny on my own since the complete unit that came from them was a joke
It works almost perfect exhept from the various rpm gear changes :(
I mean it swifts at 4200 the first time then at 5500 then at 4800,and the governor looks fine :(
The tranny has super input drum, super sun shell (those come with sleeves) ,alu pistons for the band ,7 clutches with colene steels, and some other things but im not sure about the pump
Also will this change the way it works on a daily bases ?
Ive read something like loosing the auto shift or making it react like a manual tranny
The t brake is a good option as it will lower my ETs about half a sec  or not ???

Well, it looks like you have some of the parts that will help but I'd say it would still be risky. You were smart building it yourself. I've seen some surprises in built trannies that don't really have anything in them that was special from different well know performance transmission shops.

You'll have to build up the pump and adjust your clearances and apply characteristics so your timing is right. If it is off, either you spin up and break or load up and burn. Are you willing to go back into the tranny and do a little work?

Currently the transbrake is fully manual with a reverse shift pattern. Works great with a rachet shifter. On a tranny that is built right, manual isn't too bad. You don't have to worry too much about wrong gear starts. Normally you'll burn your higher gear if you start out in it but you'll bog with the tranny built for a transbrake. You will then shift it to 1st or 2nd to start.

Looks like you have some calibration issues with your valve body. Are your 2-3 and 3-2 shifts working right? If you ever want to go through your VB, I can help you one on one. Do you have calipers? Of course, calibrating a VB is touchy and we'll have to get springs at specific rates and go over your VB seperator plate. Is the governor a SyTy gov?

Transbrakes work great for low ET's and 60' times. They allow you to be consistant and thus fine hone your launch until you get it perfect. Then you can change it to fit the track and weather conditions instead of racing up to the line pumping the brakes and revving it in neutral like a mad man and hope you can build boost before you either launch or push through the beams. Your vehicle won't move while you apply the transbrake so you don't have to worry about the push. Definitely invest in Phil's front and rear shaft loops and a SFI Scatter shield. Good motor and transmission mounts and tiedown are wise as well. Your reaction time will kill once you get the hang of it. No more watching a Syclone go up to race and the green light trips and the race starts only to see the Syclone launch 3 seconds later because you wanted to get good boost and that you weren't really racing anyway. With the Transbrake you'll be racing full blast without the normal handicap.

I'm working on the automatic version currently for the 4L60, 4L60E and the 4L80E both auto and manual. I'm hoping on getting my test mule flying again here soon.

I thought I remembered you saying you were running a PI TC? How's your spool? Do you get good boost at the line?

Contact me via E-mail too if you post a reply. I'm not on the board that much but I'll definitely come back and help if the climate is right. Otherwise, I'll work with you on the phone or via E-mail. I usually only hit the board once or twice a month. Usually the threads are taken a path that I don't get involved with because I don't want to step on anyone's toes by correcting them. People get mad when you do that so I just let them go. My customers E-mail me if they want indepth answers or call. I get slammed with e-mail everyday and fall behind sometimes but I never just ignore anyone. If I miss you, most likely my hard drive crashed or the mails I mark as unread cluing me in that I need to respond, sometimes get switched to read and I don't catch it. I hate that feeling of having like 85 core emails that I have to respond to and later you notice you only have 83. Or better yet, Kitty feels the needs to spring off your keyboard on his way to the monitor and up to the window. Evil kitty knows the exact combination to unflag all your unread mail in one pounce. Man, I love Kitty but he tests me sometimes.

Anyway, I went off track.... Talk to you soon bro and if you or anyone have any questions or need anything, call HHP Racing or email me.
