How do you know if you installed a really loose converter? Or if it's the tranny is slipping?
I had a Dayco That I imploded a few weeks ago! So a had a local place restall a converter to 2,800rpm. I just told him I needed a loose converter, as close to 3000 you can go with a 12". Since there are no 3000 rpm 12" !!!!!! And didn't have the money right now for a 10" 3000.
So after putting it back in and fixing a leak, yada, yada, yada
drove it a couple a days before getting into it. But when I did it really felt loose.... like
2 psi @ 4000rpm and 50 mile an hour, just didn't feel like it was all there! If I lock up the converter manually (push button) in hand, sometimes at the right time it pulls like MAD!
If I hit the button right after 2nd gear.... It just does 2-3-0D real fast
If I'm in D and hit the button part ways through 2nd gear it seems to do the best !?#%$@
I could do the lockup in the chip but it's never consistent. It just seems strange to me
So any insight would be appreciated
Thanks
