Truck is Awesome! Hats off to HARRY ANDERSON

Well Harry hooked me up with my new cam and lifter set-up and dialed the truck in for a few weeks ago. After a few set-backs we are together and ready to make some waves in the local area. Next week we got a track rental and will Video Tape all the runs on Pump Gas and C-16 but it will be a killer. Truck pulls right through 6,000 rpms and even still pulling when i let out of it.

Last night we whoop up a buddy's Gn with some mods and it was pulling away on 14 lbs of boost. He was running 18-19lbs with BB 66 turbo. Wish i would of had time to set-up the video camera but i will tonight as we prepare to meet a few more cars.

Hey Ralph, glad to hear its on the road & track again!

Is this a solid roller cam? What kind of duration? How is the idle compared to your old cam?

And do you still run the GT35R? Thanks for your time.

Still running the GT35R, Its a hydralic Roller still, The idle is awesome, a bit higher 900-1000 rpms in Park but the sound is pretty calm with with the tune not too much loping.

I will make a video shortly of the idle sound and runs at the track next week.

The cam is off the shelf, no special order or custom grind.

All Tuning and Cam selected by HARRY ANDERSON.

It's just a six said:
So,what are the HP & torque figures?

I don't know! We haven't engine dynoed motor nor have we chassis dynoed the truck.

It made 400HP /525 Ft Lbs last time on dyno which the motor made 605/630 on engine dyno. The truck went its best pass on pump gas was 11.3 @ 119 on 18lbs of boost.

I can surely tell you it feels real good at 15 lbs of boost right now, also since with new cam it has increased our RPM to 6,000-6,200 to shift. before power fell off at 5,100 rpm.

We will see the truth next week as we head to the track for the first time.

Hey Ralph, that's the first time I've heard of real results from a built SyTy motor "Engine Dyno Results vs. Chassis Dyno Results". Do you have any reason to believe it was not an equal and valid comparison? That is - would it be legitimate to say that your results show exactly a 33% (205 HP) loss through the drivetrain? Was it a DynoJet and do you recall the model (224)?

It would be a real thrill to hear the first conclusive answer to the question of what is the REAL drivetrain loss from our AWD!

I understand that you're not at liberty to say the specs on your new cam - but any chance you can tell us what the duration was on the old cam? (the one where it fell off at 5100 RPM?) :D

Re: Truck is Awesome! Hats off to HARRY ANDERSON

Hey Tooky,

Well i sold the cam and the card to another SyTy Member (friend of mine) for a Syclone but i don't remember the numbers Dur was around what a 422 cam was but slightly diffrent and the lift was .500 if i think hard enough. This was a custom ground from my engine builder.

The new cam has more lift and also Harry Anderson spec'ed out for the motor and he also had his own plans on how he wanted it installed into my motor by my engine builder, he also spec'ed the lifters and push-rods all to be the same for the purpose of the cam.

Old Motor tires really never spun down low only on hard boost launch, now they are spinning off the idle thottle hits, and spinnning during shift points. The innovative boost controller is awesome pc for keeping that boost perfect.

P.S. All Dyno pulls were Mustang AWD Dyno.

Thanks for that info on the cam Ralph! It sounds like your truck is a real beast.

What about the engine dyno? Is it a fair comparison to calculate your drivetrain loss? You didn't really state any of the specifics. i.e. was the fuel the same, was the boost the same, was the tune the same, were they both corrected to standard temperature and pressure.....

I dont want to run around telling people my "calculated horsepower" at the engine if this 33% figure isn't trustworthy.
