Tunerpro R/T on stock chip getting started

I need help guys, I tried messing around with it last night to no avail...all I want to do is datalog some runs, nothing fancy no emulation, nothing, just datalog...

I downloaded Tunerpro R/T per instructions I went to tools, browse on def. files, clicked on file datastream, picked 1227747_42.ads says its for 4.3V6 87-93. Is this the correct one?

After this I get kinda lost...now I have a ALDL cable I got w/ the truck and it connects to the serial port. I read on one of the posts that Tunerpro R/T won't read the ALDL connector if its a 3 prong one...is this true?

Since all I'm doing is datalogging, I don't need to mess with the xdf file correct?

Am I missing anything? Do I need to download anything else to start datalogging?

Wrong file. Go to the NWSTP web site and pick up the right (Sy/Ty) file.

Also, tunerpro's connectivity with unpatched bins is hit-or-miss. A lot of the people using it are using one of the code59 bins.

Inside the TPRT folder there is a folder called BIN definitions.... I put both the XDF and ADS file in there. The smart guys say you can drag and drop, one at a time, the XDF and ADS files onto the TunerPro folder and that they'll self install.... I haven't done that - I just went into TP and manually selected them.

I tried it last night but it failed to connect...the ALDL cable I have is for a diacom setup on a old laptop I got with the ty...it is a printer port connection is this too outdated?

Yes, diacom cable won't work.
