TunerProRT ALDL Connection Issues...

NooB question -

I have been able to successfully connect to my Ostrich emulator for my Sy, but I'm having a tough time reading the ALDL connection to datalog. I am using the ALDU1 + CABL1 Combo from Moates.net.

Anybody have any suggestions on troubleshooting?

Be sure the correct com port is selected and also the new aldl-patch will help with connectivity issues . My friend couldnt get his working on his sy for 2 months until I came over today and patched his bin and bam , shit works perfect after that . He has the ostrich and moates cables also .

Thank you for your response!

2 Questions

Where can I download the aldl patch?

Where can I ensure that the com port settings are correct?

Thanks!

The patcher program you use to patch the bin is also in that link .The com port selection is under the tools at the top of the screen , then preferences , then aldl/emulation . Select the desired com port , hit apply and then you can hit the "test for valid cable" button to double check . I had to open the newly patched bin in tunerpro rt and then aldl connected right away .

No problem , Good luck with the patcher program . It works great , but it took me a little bit to figure out the command sequence . Thanks again Dig .

Well, it works perfectly now. Thanks a bunch guys. Now I just have to set up the datalogger......when I try to record it outputs a message that says "Unable to create adl file"...

You have to click the icon of the hand holding the card thingy, and select a file to save data to. Pick a name, the select it. It will ask "create file" and click yes. Now you can record, and it will be saved as that file name.

The 3 times I have tried to datalog with tp rt on 3 diff trucks , this same issue happened .It displays the data when driving and says its recording , but when I try to view it , it only shows like 3 or 4 frames regardless of how long I let it record .. Anyone else have that problem ??

Yep.

Start a new record file name, and be sure you end the record and type in a comment, etc. If you don't it can corrupt the data and you will get exactly that just a couple frames.

Re: TunerProRT ALDL Connection Issues...

Cool....thanks again. I'll try datalogging tomorrow and possibly at the track Friday if the weather holds up.

Re: TunerProRT ALDL Connection Issues...

I should probably start a new thread, but I'll try posting here -

The program has the boost multiplier fuel tables for both 2 and 3 bar tables - which one is used? I have a 3 bar MAP sensor.

I am gessing it will use the richer of the 2 tables under 1 bar and then the 3 bar for boost scenarios over 1 bar.

Re: TunerProRT ALDL Connection Issues...

It is the same data, just labeled differently for map.

Re: TunerProRT ALDL Connection Issues...

Hmmmmmm.

The multiplier in the 2 bar MAP table @ 11.6 psi is 1.25 and the multiplier in the 3 bar MAP table is 1.17 at the same boost level.

Which multiplier will the PCM use when calculating pulse width?

Re: TunerProRT ALDL Connection Issues...

Read the table for the map sensor you have, ignore the other. Simple.
