Turbo blanket ?

Stab it and steer it
Since I have the turbo off, because the heads are off, I'm thinking I'd like to blanket the turbo and wrap the DP. Any recommendations or just pick one off Amazon or Ebay? There some pretty inexpensive ones so I wonder about the quality.

Thanks.

Re: Turbo blanket ?

Dontbuy a cheap one! I put one on mutant and it almost cought fire! I had to wrap mine in Lava Rock wrap then I could use the Ebay cover. Basically you must check at the temp rating of the wrap

Re: Turbo blanket ?

I assume you mean don't. You said "do." But thanks. There are actually "Made in USA" blankets. Quite a bit more expensive though.

I actually gave up. And, once everything was together there is very little, maybe 3/8", space between the turbine housing and the AC compressor bracket. I do need to work on under-hood heat but that's a work-in-progress.

Please help me - such a blanket leads to less ventilation of the turbo - so it gets hotter - Am I right?
So don't you produce a another problem with such a thing?

A friend of mine did some measurements of inside hood temperatures on a subaru - here the turbo is also below the top mount intercooler almost behind the engine - as soon as the car is moving you have almost ambient pressure under the hood. So I think that also happening on a SyTy, even though there is air scoop in the hood like on a subaru...
