Hell, look at the site I posted in off topic about some dyno runs/racing. LOTSA imports on there that put down well over 700hp (some over 1k hp) to the ground. If that dont justify a "thumbs up" I dunno what does.

Dunno bout you guys but Ived owned an S10 or 12 and most had "made in Canada" stickers everywhere vs yota trucks are made in AL (I think) or the honda plant in OH. Makes ya wonder just what an "import" really is(no offense Canada :wink: ). I prefer domestic stuff myself but if it was made right here in the USA I dont care what brand name it is(and as long as it dont have a huge wing hanging off the trunk).

As for mustangs/fords... Id take a new cobra or a lightning if they were more in my budget range (read: free :-? ).

Man, I am by no means a ricer, and the mustange and camaros I beat were z28's and 5.0's. I am a Gm guy all the way, but the honda was all I could get ahold of when I was 15. Those cars really roll on the top end, and most guys tend to back off after 120 or so. I was young and dumb. I beat that car long and hard. I'd never buy another one, but it was a good car. It was damn fast for a stock 4 cyl.

Did you know the Honda Accord is THE most American car in the world?

Not a personal attack, but CRX's only weigh 2lbs. because they are left-over peices of worthless japanese potmetal. Going fast is one thing, but going fast in a jap-trap is another.

My CRX has 258,024 miles on it now... how many guys have 13 year old cars with over 250k miles that are still solid dependable daily drivers?

There are lots of guys at the track with 5.0 mustangs and 305 camaros with 5 speeds that cant get into the low 14's.

I LOVE my Sy. It is the most enjoyable hot rod ive had yet. But... i still love my Honda, its fun, fast, and is still "economical." Say what you want... most guys who dont like the "import" or "ricer" crowd are either (1) guys who look under the hood of a fuel injected car and go DUHHHH or (2) guys with Mustangs and Camaros that have gotten their asses handed to them in front of their buddies by some "rice burnin fartbox"

Heavybreather, i dont believe it for a second that your stock honda was beating 5.0 mustangs and z28s. My last car was an 86 el camino ss with a stock 305 V8 and i raced quite a few old accords as well as new ones and was never beat, and i know for a fact i wouldnt beat a 5.0 mustang on my best day with that el camino. But whatever if it makes you feel good to say you beat 5.0s and z28s with your honda, say it but im going to have to call it bull shit.

Have you ever driven a stock late 80's Mustang? They had no top end at all. They wound out at like 95 and there wasn't much left after that but noise. Now, I am not saying that I could have ever kept up with one at the drag strip, but on the open highway mustangs were easy.

And, camaros weren't much better....Like I said before, most guys back down around 120 or so. Besides I have yet to drive a stock suspension Camaro that could some anywhere near that little Honda in a turn.

I didn't mean by any means that the Honda had more power than any car on the road. 0 to 60 was a joke, but 80mph and up it really ran great.

None of that matters, it can't be proven or disproven anyway. I hit a RR crossing pole at 95 and smooshed the unibody back about 10" or so. It was toast. I will never convince you so you have your opinion..I'm full of shit. I have my opinion...I was there.


I had an asshole in a 5.0 pass me in the median one night when I was driving my Grand National. I didn't even know he was behind me. I knew I could take him easy, but a dangerous punk like that is not worth the risk. He beat me, I backed down. I used to be that kind of asshole, and believe me that helped me beat alot of guys.
