did you use a pipe to an adaptor off the front of the manifold? The hose end should swivel (i.e. stay in your prefered position) and not need much force to tighten.
yes I did......I used a 3/8 NPT pipe to a -6AN 90 degree adapter from the manifold, but it did not swivel. I don't know......maybe I tightened it too much. Hand tight still seemed too loose (but it was in there pretty good) I went 2 fulls turns on it after it was hand tight and thats when I messed it up (even with like 6 layers of duct tape on the wrench)
if the piece you used was a single fitting from pipe to an then it wont swivel properly.. The russell and earls fittings are cheaper b/c they arent a full swivel design. We only use the Goodrich fittings, which are more expensive but much better. I would have recommend a straight 3/8 to -6 fitting. Then a separate -6 90 deg hose end.
