I am in the process of planning an engine rebuild along with a turbo and exhaust upgrade. My question to all of you is should I run a turbo with an internal wastegate or should I just use a turbo and external wastegate. Also could use some suggestions on which turbos work good on typhoons external or internal wastegate.

Internal turbo will most likely need to use an aftermarket downpipe.
External wastegate can net you some really good boost control. Same with a good internal wastegate.
It also depends on your build.

What are your goals? The people here will be able to help you select some stuff if they know what you're looking to get out of it.
Several people have gone low 12's on the stock engine and turbo, basically just with lots of tuning.
The stock turbo has a crappy internal wastegate. You can modify it and the downpipe to be more like PTE's setup, which is supposed to help a lot. Even just porting out the stock setup will help some. The PTE upgrades with internals work well. Or a lot of people use externals. Basically anything other than stock should be fine.

my goals are to try to get around 500 to 600 horsepower so that I can have a serious street machine. I want opinions on various setups and combos because I want to build the best setup I can. I was thinking of using atr headers but I hear some people are having problems with them. Also who makes the best boost controller that works well on our trucks.
