Turbo...

So i get my turbo back from the shop today. I had to get an exhaust flange and DP custom made for it. Anyways... I bring it home and go to put it together with the stock manifold T3 housing and the S.O.B. wont fit. Its too small?? WTF

I will try to get pics of what im talking about tomorrow. Its almost like a T2 or T25 flange to T3. Just getting this turbo to work is killing me and my wallet. hahaha

Re: Turbo...

The stock flange on the sy/ty manifolds is a T3 correct??

Cuz i thought i heard somewhere that its a t3 flange on the manifold but my turbo wont fit?

i wonder if the turbo housing is smaller?

Re: Turbo...

st/ty is a T3 flange for sure. What tubo is that? It does not look like any of the standard garrett flanges.

Its a garrett 60trim turbo but its an older one. It was freshly rebuilt and never reinstalled with no shaft play and the fins are in perfect condition. i got a steal on it from one of my buddies.

I kinda wish i wouldve just bought a stock 17g mitsu turbo so i wouldnt have had so many issues trying to get this to work... :squint:

Re: Turbo...

It looks like a turbine housing off of the turbo dodges (2.2 and 2.5). They had one bolt that was offset from the rest.

Re: Turbo...

i would measure the inducer on the comp wheel also, it looks very tiny, smaller than a stock turbo to me.

if it were mine i would sell it and get the correct turbo for my application. if you really want to use it though the cheapest way would be to make a "t3 to whatever that is" adapter

It's just a six

Re: Turbo...

I havent measured it yet... but i wanna say its at least 2in maybe a bit bigger??

I forgot what a stock turbine wheel measures?
Anyone?
If that one measures 2" I believe it is smaller than a stock Sy/Ty turbo

That will really kill some top end power.
