Combating adversyty.
I finally managed to get my TT chip installed in my Syclone. I've had it running but badly for about a year and the lack of driveability has been a headache.
I thought it was an injector issue and also valvetrain but the starter tune I tried didn't help either. It's a high compression (9.35) motor as I foolishly was trying to not reinvent the wheel. Vortec heads, #60s and the 1994 vortec cam and we have a freak of an engine.
It idled high, it died in D or R and it got progressively leaner in P according to Datamaster.
I ordered the TT chip from Eric and my Dad installed it. He called me up and just said "It.. it's a different vehicle". He actually sounded aghast.
It now pulls forward in D instead of stalling. Idle response is vastly improved. Idle speed is under control and it is a totally different truck.
All this for $155 or whatever it is. I am very, very impressed.
It hasn't driven far yet but that day is much closer now this chip is in there. For those of you with tunes that need work, I seriously recommend this.
Thanks Eric!
