Is there a possibility that L98 Vettes use the same cable? If so, I keep them in stock for $18 each.

If I have to guess, the TPI TV cable would be too short.

I've got 2 NOS tv cables.

Waller, I'll take the other one :)
Our OEM TV cables are alot longer than any TV cable out their at about 60" long from the standard GM tv cables are about 40"-50"inches that Nappa sells...

FYI the L98 TV cable used for the Vettes are indeed too short. I just tried to install one...

This sounds like a good reason to switch to an 80e.. ;-)

Dunno if this helps but it may be worth looking in to.

The 2.8 V6 S10s had a throttle body that was mounted at ~180 deg compared to the 4.3s so maybe the TV cable had to loop around to mount up. I dont remember exactly how it was set up (GM may have just swapped linkage from side to side on the 2.8s) but I remember seeing the flipped TB set up during a junk yard excursion of mine a long time ago.

Come to think of it I might have seen it on the 4.3 astro vans instead of the 2.8 S trucks but on one of the two I remember the TB being "backwards" (fuel lines come in from the front) compared to everything else Im used to seeing.

Just got a TV cable from my GM parts guru. He ordered it under part number 15661601. He got it from Beasley-Cross Chevrolet, 1520 S. Cannon Blvd, Kannapolis, NC (Earnhardt Town), Phone (704) 933-1104. I paid about $37 wholesale. This part doesn't appear to be a GM part, but probably a replacement aftermarket supplier, but the cable looks good with quality hardware and crimps. I am working on a throttle cable replacement, Lokar's braided stainless TPI unit looks good, but 36" may be too short. Anyone have a Stock Throttle cable laid out to measure the cable length and outer sheath length? Here's Lokars Website. http://www.lokar.com/interior_pages/tc_kd.htm

Aftermarket cables are made in Taiwan like the shifter cables guys had problems with. Make sure you test it out really well. Make sure it hold up to repeated pulls, engine heat, stuff like that. If it's good, let us know. I've got 3 ordered from GM, I'll see what happens.

Anyone had a chance to test the cable out?

The 3 I got had the wrong end on the throttle body side and they were 2 feet too short. GM doesn't appear to be making them or they no longer know what a Syclone is if they think this cable will fit it.

So if you brake the cable what are your options? This shop was replacing a seal on my engine and had to remove the tranny and broke my cable. They put a lokar on there its adjustable, but i shifts like shit and they cant seem to dial it in.

Did you change your throttle body when they did the engine?

I didnt change out the throttle body, still stock. The one they installed looks a little different then that one, but i cant really tell from the picture. The one installed is threaded coming through the little bracket, the one in the picture doesnt seem to be threaded.

If they are not using the one in the above pic, it would explain why it's not working correctly.
