twin stock turbos... just look!

heh, okay now I KNOW this has been covered before, but not sure if it's been sucessfully done? I was thinking of fabing up a simple log manifold for each side, and hanging a OEM hairdryer off of each manifold. and just for chits and giggels, and to more complicate things lol how about a dual TB setup similar to the vipers, but with only a pair of 60 mm TB's and manifolds, one for each head. This would effectivly split the motor into two 2.15L motors, which is more what the turbo's were designed to feed. then for exhaust, running the drivers side outlet in a similar fashion to the OEM crossover pipe, and "Y" it into the passenger side and out the OEM downpipe location but in 3"...

decent idea worth a try, or the rambelings of a mad man?

Is all that work worth 600? Cuz you wont be going much faster than what a 600 turbo could offer you.

Wouldn't it be easier to make an adapter to mount to the top of the current turbo inlet that splits into two inlets? Then mount both turbos on the passenger side of the motor. Two into one downpipe and you're all set. Then again, I don't know crap about Syclones...

TT Tahoe? assuming your talkin to someone else cuz i have no idea what your talkin about

I was thinkin one on each side A)less exhaust restrictions B) everything on that side is gone... except the M/C and oil filter (although thats still in question, may be moved under the bed w/ trans filter) So i have the room on either side to do it, it would also, being that i'll be making new headers from scratch anyways, give me the freedom to put it where ever the hell I want and go from there instead of working around the factory stuff. and come on, the shear wow factor of a twin turbo, twin throttle body AWD truck would be worth it

logicaly If the 17g can push enough CFM to put a stock truck into the mid 12's reliably, extracting that same amount of work (air) from it for 1/2 the engine size would "double" the output of said stock turbo (i know not exactly double, but roughly speaking) since air+fuel=power if you can get the same air/fuel into half the displacement, said motor would approximate the output of a motor 2x the size with the same amout of air/fuel given all other variables are equal, which since it'd be literally feeding half of exactly what it was before. also add in that this "new" motor will have a cam designed for turbo application, and heads/intake that will flow much better than stock.

hell, tell ya what, if someone wants to GAUR-UN-TEE that it'll get done (by may none the less), ship me a good working stock turbo (prefferably w/ ~50k on it to match mine wear/performance wise), then and piss on it, i'll do it if nothing else just for shits and giggles. also if anyone wants to donate a pair of 2.2 cavi t/b's that be appreciated too :D

Interesting...hows the TT Tahoe coming along??

I think he's referring to the one on the Campbell Automotive page... Unfortunately, I don't have the talent to do something like that. He's getting me confused with Nolan (Canadian SyTy).
