I was doing my usual last minute Christmas shopping and spotted a Ty parked in the Hudson Mall on Rt. 440 in Jersey City. Clean, square truck, blk w/ blk silver decals. Missing the right front center cap. It was truck #1677. Anybody know the owner? You NASTE members remember the dude Thomas at the Nats? He was from Hoboken.. kinda close. Maybe it was his truck? Oh, I was also hangin' up North near the Palisades Mall (Nanuet area) on Sunday night. Pulled into the Dunkin' Donuts, Billiards.. parking lot Rt. 50somethin' if you know the spot. Bunch of late model vettes, some imports, +. There's a guy up there that owns a Green/Grey Ty modded. His name is Dave. Forget what truck #. He's looking to get $19, 500 for his Ty. Sh_t must be nice for that price!! And, another guy hangs there with a Sy. Didn't see him there this time though. Later in the night there was some racing goin' on 11's cars. Anybody ever interested meeting up there one night, then let me know. I'm down.

that green/gray ty runs 11s also. from what he says he has an upgraded turbo, nitrous, votecs, and alot more shit. And if you ever want to meet up let me know, i live like 3 miles from there.

LOL :lol: My screen name is "NASTE Sy". Anyways, Rockland Mike, that grn/gry Ty does run 11s. There's a guy up there that wanted to run my Sy with a Jeep V8 supercharged. I should've went up against him for the right amount of money. I'm not even bothering unless there's $$ on the line. Cause if I break my trk that far up North, the tow and aggravation repairing is not worth it. Supposedly, the Jeep runs low 13s? I'll be up that way before the New Year. I'll post on the BB. By the way, a new Vette modified (high 10s?) went up against a late model Firebird (low 11s) on the Thruway.

well i cant be sure as i have not talked to the owner of that jeep, but from what i hear its supposed to run 11's or something like that. I believe there was a vid of it posted in off topic a little while ago, i would find it but the search hasnt worked for me in at least 4 months. But definately let me know when you are coming back up this way, hopefully i will be getting the ty back on the road soon. i already finished the teardown and im just waiting for parts now.

my mistake, i just found out that he hit the high 12's.
Damn glad I didn't go up against the Jeep on the PWay. I offered to race him for fun on a short stretch of road, like light to light. Just for Haha's, but he refused of course. 12's or no 12's I would've unleashed hell :evil: on that Jeep. So, those dudes up North were trying to pull a fast one on me, huh? :fist: If we did take it to the PWay, the guy w/ the Jeep wanted a car length. Believe that sh_t! He wasn't even confident enough w/ his own 12sec Jeep up against a stock Sy. Coward!! Now, I definitely need to get up North after this snow melts some. Maybe I'll bust out a sleeper of my own. :wink: Two can play this game.

you would not believe how many sleepers are around here, for instance an 80's toyota tercel that runs 10s, and a early 90's civic hx that runs 9's. I think people just dont know what to do with their money sometimes. Oh and let me know about that sleeper, i wouldnt want you to embarass me lol. but i guess that wont happen untill my truck is back on the road.

That Green/Grey is owned by a friend of mine, Dave Perino. I almost bought it. Here's the email on the truck I got from him last summer. He's into it for $27,000
ok! Tranny was done by Pat Barrett at Level 10. Shift kit, 3400 stall
converter at 12lbs of boost. All new clutches, bands, basically there is
nothing in the tranny that is stock or old at all. Block was bored .030 and
I installed Ross Forged Pistons and Crower Rods. Girdle under the crank for
added strenght. New oil pump, flex plate and starter installed when rebuilt.
Ported vortech cylinder heads, stainless steel valves, double wound springs
and titanium valve spring retainers. ARP studs holding eveything together.
Upgraded "computer friendly" cam with .500 lift, 114 seperation. Nice mild
cam but gave the truck much better top end. Upgraded Water to air
intercooler, B+M tranny cooler to replace stock CAC cooler and shurflo
marine pump. Upgraded Turbo to 20G by forced performance, ported turbine
housing and exhause manifolds. Borla 3" cat back exhaust. Rear mounter
battery and open filter element intake with K+N. Factory clutch fan was
replaced with an electric unit. Truck is running STOCK boost, stock computer
and fuel system, still had no problem running mid 12's at Island Dragway.
With a fuel system and some more boost I know itll run 11's.
New stock Typhoon wheels up front at $600 a piece. Still have
originals if you want them. New tires. Spotless interior. 12 CD changer in
center console, custom MTX door pannes with 4 speakers in them being pushed
by a JBL400 amp. Also a PSR80 powered sub with a custom install. Factory
skirts are Clear Coated and I have two hoods, the stock hood and an
unpainter Cowl hood with a 2.5 inch cowl. whew!!! Think that everything, let
me know when you're ready. If you can tell me thet you are definitely VERY
interested I will hold it for you. Id rather sell it to someone I know will
appreciate it. Talk to you soon,

Been up that way for the last 3 weekends or so (Sundays), except this weekend SNOW. Some crazy stuff goin on in NY. Usually I hang with Dave in the lot. The Vettes up there are nuts! Along with those sleepers: 89? Mitsu Mirages w/ turbo Eclipse motors. Sick stuff. Never expect a ratty car like that. I hang in Newark during the summers. Sure you the spot I'm talking 'bout. Dave says he's been by several times. We should roll together one night to D&D. Mike from NY said he'd go. He has a black Ty also. Well, your friends seem like cool guys. They tried to get me to run. But, I think the fear of the unknown is worse than anything else
