Ok guys I have a 92 TY and I love the damn thing so much. Now I have a problem I also have a 57 Chevy 2 dr now I was going to put a GN motor in it but I was looking around and fiqured maybe a 4.3 would be the way to go considering that it is a 57 Chevy. Now I have my eye on an engine for sale but I canot find a wiring harness for the truck. Would anybody know anyone who makes a harness of will one from a regular 4.3 work? I know everyone tells me to put a 454 in the car but I want to do something at least that I havent seen. Any ideas will help... Thanks

Go for it!!! You will need most of the under dash harness from a 90 to 94 s-series truck, including the fuse box, the underhood harness from a Sy or ty, plus the ecm and other goodies... if you have someone that knows what he is doing in your area, you can trim half the shit off the under dash harness that you don't need... or you can just go with a FAST/Accel dfi system and not worry about the hunt for a stocker harness.... but you need to know how to tune these stand alone systems.... Even though there are alot more 3.8's, I would go with the 4.3 turbo set up... Small block chevy parts are a hellalot mo cheaper... I guess it really boils down to how much money and patience ya got, cause you will need a bit of both... I can help ya with wiring diagrams and such if you need them.... Good luck!

SBC parts mucho cheaper. Aluminum heads for 1k for example.
much more selection with bottom end parts as well.
How about a turbo 383 - two more cylinders and cheaper .

If you want to use a syty ecm find one at a salvage yard. They were used in other turbo cars. I would find the plugs for the ECM cheap off of a turbo sunbird and make my own harness. GM weatherpac plugs are available and then you could route it to suit you and put the computer where you want it.
