Re: Typhoon #1600

The turbo is no longer a T-72...this is a Bullseye Power CompR62 with race cover - good for ~70#/min of air.

I am about to swap over form w2a, so if anyone's interested, it's all going up for sale. It worked, but the IC is a bit small for the turbo going in it next. That, and the 38mm WG is also coming out real soon.

How much clearance do you have between the tire and the downpipe?

Also that's is a T-3 to T-4 adapter right?

Re: Typhoon #1600

plenty of room....I dont have the inner fenderwells in because of teh IC and its mounting bracket. If I were to keep this setup, I would have to hack that fender pretty good.

that is not the T3-T4 adaptor...its the straight T3 with the 38mm WG mounting point. What you cant see from these pics is the fact that I had to weld a short section of 2" pipe to that spacer (in a 90* bend), weld a 38mm WG mounting flange to it, then bolt up the WG, and mamke a short dump tune that points downward.

Bullseye Power CompR62 Can you tell us more about this tubro.

How big is it? Why this type and brand of turbo over the old 72?

Looks interesting.

The build looks great, cant wait to see it will an A/A and a new WG.

This company has been a manufacturer of many components for Borg Warner in the US. They had started a performance turbo division on their own some time ago. The CompR turbo's are their own 100% construction, with advanced compressor wheel designs (ETT or extended tip technology pioneered by BW).

I went with them for a few reasons: they are local to me, make a great product, and I have seen them in action by a couple of very large engine builders here.

I replaced the T-72 with their S364 turbo for Nats. Running 13#, I netted a 12.13. When I got back, I replaced it with their new CompR62. This turbo flows almost 70#/min, and has made over 700whp (at 34#) on a single-turbo 5.3L Silverado. The reason for going to a turbo of this size (similar to a 35R) was for its streetability. The turbo comes alive almost instantly, with real nice power. If you like, you can ask Harmon his thoughts on the turbo - he's running the same one on his Sy.

If you have any questions about the turbo...call David or Bill at Bullseye Power (231-571-8424).

Thank you very much for the info. What does a R62 cost compared toa GT35?

I have been wanting to upgrade my small turbo for a while now, This will probably be the last year for my T-63.
