Re: Typhoon, or TBSS please help!!!!!!
When I first bought my TY there was nothing wrong or wierd what so ever on the test drive. I had the truck for 4 days before I actually purchased it. I pulled it in the garage and went over EVERYTHING, checked trans fluid, engine oil, colant, inspected for leaks blah blah blah. I paid 11.5k for mine and I found NOTHING wrong on the inspection. I bought my truck in Feb 03 and in Mar, the ECM went bad. Then in June the Fuel Pump went out. August, the tranny blew up. $2500 was the cheapest I could find around here to rebuild and I had just joined this site and everyone said to stay away from tranny shops if possible so I ended up having to learn trannies on my own. A few months later in December on cold as hell kind of day the motor took a dump at 120k. After that it was pretty smooth sailing  Until I really started driving it hard. What I had never really known was that the truck had semi serious problems that really held back its performance. The IC pump apparently never worked, my exhaust was in awful shape, little things really. I fixed all that and my truck came to life, I got VERY greedy. Next thing you know I was constantly fixing things on it, which was ok with me since I could afford it. Still can usually. Lately its been a lot of drivetrain stuff since im over 200k miles on my TY. But, my truck is faster than ever now, has over 200k, is constantly raced, beaten to shit, daily driven, and is the "family" vehicle and I wouldnt trade it for the world. Theres jsut some things that are going to come with the territory and you have to be willing to except it or get something with a waranty or more reliable. I will say that when it comes to exclusiveness, its well worth the the crowds that gather at hangouts etc. Everyone wnating to knwo more abotu it and say how they always wanted one, blah blah. I see GN's everyday on the road, I see atleast 2-3 TBSS's on the road everyday and I see about the same SRT8's out there. What I dont see is a Ty or Sy everyday, not even every week or every month, it feels damn good to a part of something like this. Thats my take on it.
