Re: Typhoon rattlebucket??

Welcome to the wonderful world of s10s. All S-series trucks do it, unfortunatly the Typhoon is one. All Blazers and Jimmys seem to have the annoying rear window chirping lol

YEPP. we're with you brother ...

:haha: :haha: :haha:

btw.: try to lube the metal-thing that locks the rear windowglass with lithiumgrease ... works good for me for about half a year ;)
doors : try to give new retainers for the panels (actuall blazer part fit with light modification) - thats what i do at the moment ... hoping for success :sly:

I just call that "patina" ;)

Dash shaking is probably fubar front suspension and or bent rims.

Re: Typhoon rattlebucket??

Starting Monday I'll be driving my wife's Typhoon till she recovers from surgery. (about 6wks)

I plan on making a kit for the rear hatch/window rattle problem. I'll have some peices done when I come up with a design that works with existing holes for the rear and is easy to install and CURES the problem... I put new seals in hers and it solved the problem for about 8months.. now that the seals are getting warn in I hear the rear hatch area starting to make noise again :(
Time to make a part to solve it for good!

The back seat had flop issue and their was a semi dealer fix. The rear window squeak is common. The rest of them you should be able to fix with tiem and patience. As Jimmy mention make sure you don't have rim balance or suspension issues to egaerate the problems. The door panelw are held in mostly by clips, perhaps some of them are missing or broken, maybe you have a few loose screws or missing bolts.

Re: Typhoon rattlebucket??

I used electrical tape wrapped around the rear window "loop/catch" and it stops the squeeking for weeks. Cheap fix and works in a pinch.

Any current solutions for the rear seat flop?

I've kept the rear seatbelts buckled for most of the last 4 years. On the other hand, I've used the ultimate fix since late November or so... the bench has spent that entire time folded down and hasn't moved yet.

I've owned 4 s-15's over the years. None of them rattled. Tighten the loose screws, bolts and keep a eye on things.
