Ultimate & ABS light

I use to have the 50# Ultimate w/ 50# injectors in, then I took them out, then I put them back in. This last time I put them in my ABS light won't go out. I use to have this when I would block my EGR valve, but now it happens in all the settings, even T1-15 (which I thought was supposed to have the EGR operational). It doesn't come on right away but within a few seconds of driving it pops on and stays on.

nope, I did screw up and said that when I blocked my egr valve the abs light came on, when in actuallity it was the check engine light. Now it's the abs though.

what abs codes are you getting?
the ecm should have nothing to do with the abs light. the light comes directly from the abs unit.

Check your codes. My ABS light came on but fortunately it was only a front wheel speed sensor--no big deal. Hopefully your control unit is OK.

When I delete my ABS unit will the ABS light come on.If so how do I turn it off.Please dont tell me I have to take the bulb out.

bruce,

i didn't get a light after deleting abs...if the light signal is sent by the abs unit, then you take the abs unit out, you shouldn't get a light...

I read that but was just making sure.Man, that was a pretty easy mod.Its too bad the kit did not come with other line or T fitting.

your truck should have a t-fitting on the front driver's side frame rail...the kit should just bolt right up...you bought an extra T? where did you put it?

I asked this question earlier; T fitting? What T fitting???

My front pass side line has a coupling on the drivers side rail, but no T.

Why would it have a T?
Doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not the brightest bulb...sometimes.

the "coupling" would be for the rear brakes (on frame nearest firewall)...the T should be towards the front of the truck on the frame (driver's side)...there is a T there to split pressure to both front tires...IIRC the thicker brake line goes to the rear brakes and the thinner line goes to the fronts...follow the thinner line to the T...

edit:

bad pic of this but here goes anyway...the line that goes to the front (sloppy bent one) is the thinner one...you can catch just a glimpse of the t at the bottom center of the photo...should be near the steering shaft/steering box vicinity...the thicker line (coiled one) sends fluid pressure to the rear brakes...this pic was taken during reassembly of my sy a few months ago...i was actually taking a pic of the driver's side exhaust manifold...

Serv , u have to replace the coupler on the driver side with a new t fitting, right? then u bend a new 4 inch line from autozone and bend it like an "S" fasion to connect to the T fitting. (.Y.)

OK you guys made me go look...(back when i did this, i converted my sy using an old s-series non-ABS truck at a local yard....i removed the necessary lines and the T...i bought so much crap off the truck that they just gave the stuff to me) ...while i was outside right now i also took a look at my Ty....4C FED, you are correct...there is not a T where i thought there was...there is a coupling...i replaced that coupling (on my sy) with the T i got at the junkyard ...Bruce, i guess you do have to purchase a T...its been so long since i did this conversion, that i got used to a T being on the front portion of my sy's frame....bruce, if you orient the new T correctly, do you really think its necessary to bend a new line? ...I bet Hood could set everyone straight here as i have less clues now...

Well yes because the old line from the front driver side was made long enough to connect to the ABS unit.It would be better if a shorter line was used IMO and I get to save the OEM lines without bending them.In case one day I need2 sell it, I have the option of putting back the ABS unit. :fadein:
