Ultimate Chip - Map sensor question

I have what I believe is the Ultimate Chip and radar style tuner. It came with the truck. Is it required to have a 3 bar map sensor with this combo? I am not sure that I have a 3 bar.

Re: Ultimate Chip - Map sensor question

It is ABSOLUTELY necessary to have a 3 bar MAP to run the Ultimate chip. Without it, your truck won't be getting the correct data which in turn will result in expensive problems in short order... Use this to determine what MAP sensor you have:

IMG_0250.sized.jpg

"MAP sensors, stock 2 bar on left #16009886 and 3 bar on right old number is #16040749 new # is #12223861. On the topside where the plug connects, there is a number for identification. 1 bar MAP=039, 460, 876 or 883. 2 bar MAP=012, 539, 609, 701, or 886. 3 bar MAP=749 or 861. The 4 digit number to the right refers to the date of manufacture "1100"= 2001, 100th day of the year."

Re: Ultimate Chip - Map sensor question

Well, it looks like I got a stock replacement one.. Would this explain a rich idle?

Rich across the board if I'm thinking of this correctly.

Either way - known mismatch, fix it then move on.

Re: Ultimate Chip - Map sensor question

I have not checked the codes. But it should be a 3 bar so I am going to get one. Any suggestions on which one for the best price?
