I am very pleased with my Ultimate. Just wish they made the gauge style in 2 5/8 for my pod. I love the security feature, when I park my truck I KNOW no one is driving it away without a tow truck. They might damage it but they're not taking it.

Plus BG has maybe some of the best customer support out there, any questions and he helps. Best chip in my opinion.

The Ultimate requires that your truck be in perfect running condition. Problems that weren't seen on the stack calibration may show up on the Ultimate's calibration.

Ultimate or a custom chip is your only option for a 3-bar chip (able to read boost over 15psi). ATR is about the only acceptable replacement for the stock 2-bar chip.

The Kenne Bell chip actually disables all knock retard. It won't pull out timing so you can go a little faster, but that's only an issue if you have knock. If you want to run a little bit faster and blow your engine, KB is the way to go...

Jet and/or Hypertech... One of those, someone here called the company and they couldn't even tell them what changes they made to the chip. The user also compared two different chips from them and they had different programming in them. Seems to be random tuning changes... It's bad enough if they can't tell you why they changed something, but if they can't even tell you what they changed... Eeek.

sy112 How much difference speed & et wise?

Well that's part of the beauty of it, with all the different settings there is a lot of differences you can do. Depending on which version you get of course. When I bought my truck I had the Ultimate on it so I can't really give you any time differences. When i purchased mine it was running very rough so I put the 2 bar map and stock chip back in until I got all the woes lined out, then stuck the Ultimate back on. I never ran at the track with the stock chip. But I can tell you there is a world of difference in the "seat of the pants" review.

13.52 is the best I have gotten so far, but there is a lot more left. As you can see by my crappy 60 ft time and my getting 99 mph trap speed. I figure running the Ultimate, I should be able to get real close to the 12's without having a "one off" chip burned. Probably won't get there though as I have a pte kit ready to bolt on :D

What I eventually plan on doing is burning each of the different programs for certain driving purposes. i.e., have one for when I do long driving and want to run 87 octane, one for running on street with alky injection on pump gas, one full bore track program, you get the idea, so at whatever circumstance I am in, I just select that program.

Also while I haven't done this, if you are tuning, instead of running, datalogging, then coming back burning a chip, you could burn several different programs, then go try each program and find the best, then burn over the other with more "suspected" improvements and do the whole process over. Then when you get it just right, save that program and then reinstall the other programs on the chip. In theory should make tuning faster if you can't afford the Romulator and Tunercat.

Like I said, most of this is in theory only

Either way I think the Ultimate gives the best overall buy.

Hey BG, I should get a special made 2 5/8 guage style Ultimate for my shameless plug of your work :D Free of course. Need to find something to replace the EGT on my pillar.

Yeha Bill, Patrick and I looked at the Hyperjunk file. That thing was so messed up, the fueling and timing curve were so far off it wasn't even funny. You know how things are supposed to be progressive, kind of linear, didn't even resemble that.

As far as KB chip, nah, while I hate knock retard most of the time, I still am very glad it there to save my motor.

Very good point on the Ultimate bringing out any flaws on your setup. If you haven't done the tune-up like suggested then don't put it on yet. Like I said, mine was running rough when I got it, and with the Ultimate I was seeing max KR, god only knows how long the previous owner had it running this way
