ultimate problems

so i install the ultimate,and the check engine light never goes out.
install the stock chip, alls well.
install a hypertch chip alls well also

running 50 lbs with a 3 bar.
have done all the tests out of the book.
chip was reflashed by one of our vendors and said all well.
help....GT

Did you piggyback a MEMCAL on to the ultimate board?
It needs one to work.

yes have piggy backed the stock memcal. 50 lbers would be the injector size.
can't pull code because light won't flash. just stays on all time.
what i'm saying is..remove the ultimate,install the stock memcal and all is well.
except for the fact it not set up for my build.
have the directions already and have read them over many times thinking i've missed something.
if someone can post pics i'll send them a few. thanks GT

Well don't do what I did. Install the chip backwards on the board. Double check that it's installed correctly looking at the little notch on the end of the chip.:2cents: Also make sure there are no bent pins. Pinched ribbon cable maybe, either at the PCM end or the control end.

And oh yea, regarding "running 50 lbs." Remember: assumption is the mother of all screw-ups.

the chip was installed by the vendor,so i'm sure it's correct. the injectors were flow tested and scribed with there flow #'s. it's running on the stock memcal right now.
not correctly,butrunning. is there someone well versed in these that i could send to,to check out for me? GT

the light just stays on. take the ultimate out,install stock memcal,and acts normally.
meaning...i can put into diagnostic mode. light flashes as it should to read codes. GT

That pretty much points to one of 2 problems.

1) Your ultimate chip is bad.

2) It isn't installed properly

They're notorious for having bad connections.
