unknown milage?

hey guys im new (obviosly) i have had 2 blazers and have loved the ty ever since i saw one (go figure haha) my trucks never got to make it into what i wanted them because the first one died with high milage and the sencond totaled with 2 1/2 ft. of front end damage bya druknk driver hitting me head on... any ways thats my lil storry lol,

im looking at a ty with unkown milage believed to be around 172,000? becasue the cluster has been switched by previous owner ...body seems to be good and the interior has no flaws that i have seen so far...just wondering what is a fair price to offer since ill never know the true miles thanks guys and love the site lots of info!

from pictures (haha) and friends pretty nice with maybe one crack in the dash..cladding maybe a few scuffes ( gonig to see it this weekend)......and ya i am, the firefighters said i shouldnt be here when they were cutting my out

do a car fax, it will hopefully net you a path to work off or for mileage then at least you know if you are close then you can make an educated offer

I think the overall condition will affect value more than the mileage. Just check for rust, in the floors, around the wheel arches and at the rear of the roofline where the hinges bolt to. Make sure its not full of bondo there either. Cladding can be very expensive so make sure what you have is usable. Most cladding pieces are a couple of hundred dollars each- in good used shape. Next make it runs good. Alot of SyTy's are in far from good running order. Plan to change all the vacuum lines, do a full tune up, change all fluids, and address the S-10's poor wearing front suspension pieces. If you have access to Datamaster or TunerPro RT, do a quick scan while driving.

Your best bet is to post where you live- or at least where this Ty is so you can have a fellow board member check it out with you. Most of us would jump at the chance to check out a SyTy for sale and help out a newbie.
