Update - Finally Got One

Re: Update - Finally Got One

AER just called back, told me they dont make an engire and to get my money back from usautoparts.com the place that sold the motor.

When I told them they already cashed the PO sent the first engine, then a second waranty replacement using the VIN he backed off and is going to call back again.

Not thinking this is going to go anywhere. My best bet is a consumer protection attorney at this point.

Either the used car dealer or the engine company...

Small claims court... both of 'em.

Re: Update - Finally Got One

Yeah I'm thinking that's my only option. I'm going to call a lemon law attorney and get some advise. funny thing is they list some "scams" on their website and I fell into one of them.

They sold me the truck with one annual interest rate then a week later came back with a higher rate and my loan increased. That was just the beginning of this nightmare....

Just spoke with the Warranty Claims manager at AER and they are done. I was right, the turbo would void the warranty and its not transferable. They lay blaim with usautoparts ordering the wrong engine.

You should get AER to state that in writing... having it written down that A) the turbo voids the warranty, and B) the warranty isn't transferable would go a long way in court to show that the dealer/USAutoparts is negligent.

Re: Update - Finally Got One

Well filed a complaint with the Attorney General and found a lawyer that would take the case. He wants $200.00 for the consult and $250/hr after.

I may send him the link to that 40k mile motor for sale and tell him to buy it, have it installed, and were good.

Keeping my fingers crossed....

Not trying to be a dick.but, why did you even buy this POS?

Was there not anybody local that could tell nyou to run away?

As soon as I saw the ad I would have been asking questions.

Like who built the motor? What's in it? What is the compression ratio? DO YOU EVEN ****ING KNOW WHAT A TYPHOON IS?

I got no sympathy for you.

Hope it works out.

OK on the consult, not so sure on the $250hr. FWIW: I renegotiated my visitiation and support a few years ago (Ex didn't think I need more time with the kids, I disagreed). I got one of the best attorneys in the city, $350hr. I won double my previous time, cut my support by half... and owed the attorney $9000. Worth it for my kids, Yes. Would I spend that for a Ty? No. BUT, if you can get them to "settle" on the purchase/install of a different engine... this is the far better/cheaper route. The funny thing with a letter from an attorney, it's all you need sometimes to get shit done.

Like I said... this would be the far better/easier/cheaper option.

Good luck.

Re: Update - Finally Got One

There isn't much to report, I filed a complaint with the Washington State A.G. They passed it on to the seller and they have 21 days to respond. I also will be meeting with a private attorney next week, I'm gonna spend a couple hundred to find out if I'm better off with an attorney or filing in small claims court.

I don't expect much so anything would be awesome, at this point its more about the principal and ethics. Regardless of whether I should have bought this Typhoon the owner of Millennium where I got it made it very clear that when he takes in something that needs repairs he goes above and beyond. "I do things right" was said over and over as we negotiated. He couldn't come down on the price anymore after how much he's spent fixing it "Right"

I'll let everyone know what I find out next week, thanks for all the support :)
