GM didn't begin using Dex Cool til somewhere about 1996. So I doubt his truck has that in it, and they certainly couldn't call for it since it didn't exist when the trucks were built.

Are you 100% positive? I derive a lot of my findings through my readings. I remember buying 3 gallons for my syclone. 15 some bucks for a gallon.

I just drove about a half hour to open my GMC syclone service supplement. A place where I derive a lot of my info from. Keep in mind I bought the BOOK first, then the truck. I read the book like it was a blue print. The book is dated 1992, but I bet it was chalked up in like late 90 early 1991. Maybe earlier. I really wouldn't know exacts on all that. What I do know is there is a GM part number that correlates with dexcool.

What's the saying? To each their own?

It's possible the old part number has been superceded by the number for Dex Cool, but all of my reading backs up the fact the GM did not start using it until 1996. Either way, I wouldn't use that stuff in any vehicle. I've personally seen issues with it, let alone the lawsuits over it.
