Re: upside down rear sway bar?

Depends on which one you have. On my Sy it's above the differential and attaches to the frame behind the rear axle. I like this setup better then the Belltech setup cause I didn't have to remove / modify the gas tank strap.

Who makes a Ty Anti sway bar that goes above the diff? How does it compare to the 'Belltech' under axle variety, It will probably look cleaner, I'm sure! anyboby tried both?

Re: upside down rear sway bar?

Over the rear SB is probably a Hellwig which I used to have on my Sy. It was listed for Ty's because the bar-to-link mount interferes with the (stock) Sy exhaust. My old Flowmaster slip-fit tailpipe allowed rotation to avoid the problem but since then I've installed the RPM Stainless Exhaust system. It doen't allow much movement/rotation so now I got the Belltech bar. Performance? I couldn't tell any difference between either bar but they both helped the handling.

Re: upside down rear sway bar?

Thanks Lavaman, I know the rears of the Sy and Ty are different for obvious reasons, but I also have an RPM catback on my Ty which routes different to the stock exhaust. I wonder if the 'over axle' bar will fit the Ty with the RPM cat back. Any one know the answer to this?

It should fit if the tailpipe exits off to the side and not straight back like the Sy's.

Mine goes over but attaches in front of the rear axle and not directly to the frame, it gets bolted to little stabilizer links coming down from the frame.

Re: upside down rear sway bar?

The Ty RPM tailpipe exits in the stock location, but it routes a little differently. It runs closer to the axle and fuel tank than the stock one I removed. The bends wern't as tight as the factory one. it dosen't hit anywhere however and is nice piece, just different to the GM one. The fact that it runs closer to the axle is my concern that it might not fit with the over axle antisway bar. Sorry to highjack the thread.
