I will be doing this very soon as well.

For stock heads are the UR5 or UR6's going to be a better match? I think I remember UR6's for the Vortecs.

Stock heads - UR5 and UR6 fit, just that 5 is stock heat range, 6 is colder.

Vortecs - TR5 and TR6, same thing.. 5 and 6 are heat range.

i just ordered those ur5ix plugs. I can't find any info on here about gapping them. They come delivered at .035.

They recommend you don't gap them. They come pre-gapped for most apps.
You can try to gap them, but be very careful as the Iridium electrode is small & fragile.

I'd try them @ .035 first, then see if you need to gap smaller.

You have to get a feeler gage. Pep Boys, Auto Zone etc. will have one. But the AC's I have gotten have all been correct out of the box. The NGK's are not adjustable.

If you were having a miss at high boost you would probably gap them a tad smaller. Maybe .032.

But, like I said earlier, they're fragile and you run the risk of damaging the electrode if you try to gap it.

I believe the NGK UR5/UR6/TR5/TR6 can be gapped, but their IX Iridium equivalents aren't supposed to be.
