Getting frustrated and looking for some help.

Im installing a set of RPM's valve covers:

following some advice from:

i got a set of valve cover gaskets from autozone, blue felpros like what tyler used. Except they are about an inch short end to end. Is this normal? for some reason I thought it was after seeing Mikes note about gluing them in place, but now Im thinking I got the wrong gaskets as I cant get glue to keep these stretched out in place...

I was about to re-use the stockers when thinking that maybe I got the wrong ones?

anyone with a little experience with these gaskets?

I used orange ones (OEM, I think)....same deal....I had to give them one big stretch, then used a rasberry colored, automotive, brush on, contact cement that I bought at napa....gave both surfaces (gasket and valve cover) a couple of coats, let them dry, applied the gasket using firm thumb pressure all around, then installed the covers immediately....the important part for me was the stretch of the gaskets to relieve some elasticity of the gasket....I removed my valve covers for a lifter adj after a few hundred miles and they came off again, so this isn't permanent, but you can get them on....

I had the same problem at first. .......I dropped the box and paper came out " these gaskets where initially made smaller than the item your putting them on"is what it said,

Use C A glue from a hobby store,It's gap filling superglue, Put glue on one half side of it,apply gasket,Let dry 30 min. Get some cheap plastic squeeze clamps from Home depot. Then stretch the other half of the gasket over and clamp into place.

Napa sells "tuff-cork" valve cover gaskets that will fit without having to be stretched and glued with aftermarket valve covers. The napa # is VS50024TC

Re: Valve Cover Gasket Q

Used hi temp silicone.Let it set up for 10 minutes and secured the gasket with electrical tape overnight.Worked fine.
