heys guys, i am fairly new to the forum so i realize that there will be a certain amount of hazing that i will gladly accept so let the beatings begin:roll: first off i would like to say much thanx to Scott,Ken and Yar for hooking me up with a few of the parts that I was in need of for my build. My question is directed to those of you that have done the vortec head swap and i would like to know if anybody is running the stock covers and what type of rockers your running. will full rollers fit under them or only the roller tips without using some type of spacer. thanks in advance

Re: vortec heads and rocker arms

I'm running stock valve covers with 1.6 roller tip rockers... I don't think full rollers will clear. HTH

Stock valve covers will fit if you grind the 2 bottom corners of the head to match the cover.I have vortecs on one of my trucks running crane 1.6 full rollers with no problem.

If you want to run full rollers with plastic covers you'll need spacers,if you want to run stock metal covers, grind the corners.
