Re: vortec heads with oversized valves

is 2.25" a typo? that's like big block valve size

Even 2.05 is huge for these heads. Especially with their tendency to crack between oversize valves. The stock 1.94s are plenty big for power.

these heads are not drilled for the sy/ty lower intake manifold

Thank you GEMELLI for your opinion on my for sale post

You bet!! Your heads might work better in a naturally aspirated application. But the cracking between oversize valves is more than my opinion.

My truck has had Vortec heads with 2.055" intake and 1.6" exhaust valves since 2000, with 3 previous owners and 15,000 miles.

Took them off to get them freshened up - no cracks.

Running rear coolant lines to the front water crossover will help reduce the temperature differential between the front and rear of the engine.

Something not done very often with the V6's I've noticed... but done all the time on SBC's.

Good luck with the sale OP.
