want my ty to handle like a sports car

what all is neeed to make a ty handle like a sports car, i like the way it drives and had mad power but it just dont handle like my bmw 5 series dose, what can i do to the ty to make it handle better, hell i almost hit a truck today racing arond a corner lol

front coilovers will make a major difference... steering shaft, steering box.... but face the fact it will never be a bmw.

rear sway bar, replace the front sway bar links, new kyb monomax shocks all around drop 2"...and you'll be like a go cart

First do a search in the steering and suspension sub-forum theres lots of info. Coil overs would be great but if you cant spend that kind of $$ research "stock suspension rebuild" and for about $500+/- you can pretty much have a brand new front end. People often overlook how much tires can also help. You may aso want to look into upgrading the brakes while you are in there.

Do what I did. Front coilovers, and some nice stiff leaf springs (i went with custom built fiberglass composite), some good shocks, and you'll be good to run stock sway bar up front, and maybe could use a small one in the rear, but it's good if you don't have to use one. Brakes will help a lot, and I love my quick ratio steering box. If you really wanna rail corners, get some nice sticky tires.

I had a roush mustang and I was not impressed. The 300z I rented was good. Sports cars cost too much.

thanks alot guys, yea i really like this ty its awsoe i have had it for a few days and its a blast to drive so i want ot keep it and make it handle better so iw ill search some more and see what i can figure out, ( about the trading it lol i had sevearl offers , the 2 most intersting was a 450whp mx3 turbo and a fully built 92 ranger with a supercharged 306 built out the ass its a mid 11s truck wiht ac lol ) bt i think i wil keep the ty i wanted on for so long and now i got one so why not make it like i want it

i just sold my 97 E36 M3. nice car. expensive to maintain. even for me. im a service manager @ a repair shop and just the parts alone are expensive. but at the same time you are also comparing apples & oranges. you can always make a truck handle better, but in the end it's still a completely different vehicle. but your basic suspension components and you'll be on your way.

id also suggest talking to/ looking up posts by "ivanko barbell". He is one of the few on this board that have done a lot of work with the suspension and I believe he autocrosses his sy. soon he'll be doing hill climbs!! :tup:
