Toyota had a 22r turbo truck. Not the best but it was turbo... Buddy has one, although turbo motor long since left for a 4.3 chevy...

Isuzu had one. Gas or diesel. Dodge had the Rampage with the 2.2 turbo. The pickup version of the Omni coupe.

Our trucks were also the only trucks to ship with an all-wheel drive system, to the best of my knowledge. Especially a full time one!!

Incorrect, howabout the ASTROs, Bravadas ??

Howabout the old 73-79 GMC, Chevys & Fords ??
Howabout Fords AEROSTAR vans ??
Howabout Subaru ??
Howabout Dodges Caravan/Voyager ??
Howabout the Escalades/Denali's ??
Howabout JEEP Grand Cherokees ??
Howabout Jeep Cherokees ??

That just a quick list.... There are ALOT of truck available with AWD.. This is nothing special to GM, although GM tends to favor it more than some manufacturers, its NOT specific to just a Sy/Ty..

When I say truck I mean pickup-truck. I'm not talking about minivans or SUVs where the AWD is more practical. Anyone know of any PICKUP TRUCKS, WITH A BED IN THE BACK, that are full time AWD?

Plenty of the late 70's and maybe early 80s GM and Chevy 4x4's were full time four wheel drive. They had a shifter going to the transfer case, that shifted between Low lock - low - neutral - hi - hi lock. Basically all wheels pulled all the time, but the transfercase has a kinda differential between the front and rear driveshaft similar to our viscous coupling. When you put it in a "lock" it locked that center differential.

Where do you think they took it from?

BTW, you can't say something about "our trucks" and expect the Typhoon guys to immediately excuse themselves. Your definition of "truck" is too narrow, you will always have to say "pickup" instead if that's what you mean.

My 2 cents
Richard

I don't think you are right about the Bravada AWD. The AWD for the Sy/Ty's i'm pretty sure came from the Astro van. The Bravada has a different frame.
