I use it. the way it works is by spraying nitrous or co2 directly on the air to air core. it chills the core so cold that the air that passed through is chilled greatly. if you spray in on a water lower core it is so small that it would probably freeze the water and then you wouldn't have any flow and would probably hurt not help

What kind of temps are we talking about? I'm not a big nitrous guy, so what's the temps of the gas which came out from the nozzles? What kinda temp drops can you see in your intake temps?

Correct me if Im wrong here guys. Isnt it like 150 below 0 or something.

ALOT of people in Texas (hotter than hell) use this type of sys on air to air. I haer its been really working great for the import croud. Yeah I hate the ricers too but they are the only other turbo junkies around here.

not exactly sure about the temp. I beleive it is about 100-150 degrees below like pittman says. lets just say cold as hell! it does work better in hot weather. NX says that they get some ridiculous horsepower gains on a stock honda with turbo addition, but I don't know if I believe it. I think it's ricer talk, and they'll buy and believe anything. It does seem to work though. I can tell you one thing. the more efficient your intercooler core the lower your temps will be. when I recently ran the 10.4 my temp was about 170 with the nitrouscooler on. all I have is a kenne bell intercooler. I'll bet this will come as no surprise. I did have some boost pumping! winded v6 has a much better intercooler (have any of you guys seen his ty? wow!) than I do and also runs the N-tercooler kit and his temps are dramatically down from mine. the worst part about them is they eat nitrous. much worse than on a motor. Co2 is about the same temp as nitrous and drastically cheaper. if anyone knows the best and cheapest way to buy co2 I would appreciate the info. theres a paint ball place around me that sells it for 1.40 per pound and I'm hoping they will be able to fill the tank.

I was wondering, do you use it just before running to cool down the core, or spray it all the way down the 1/4?

And where did you put the NO2 bottle?

I have a real problem with drilling holes in the bed of my truck. I was thinking of trying CO2 and just putting the bottle behind the seat, but there's not much room.

All the way down the 1/4 mile. Spraying just before a run would do little or nothing to help you, the heat builds up to fast, and a light spray would do nothing. But a constant spray all the way down the track helps.

I spray for a few seconds just before staging. it sprays automatically all the way down the track. I do think that spraying prior to the run helps. It all depends what you're after. If you're looking for everything possible, spray. If you use the 5 pound bottle it will fit behind the seat. Only problem is that 5 pounds doesn't last very long if you use it very much. CO2 is harder to find it seems when you need it than nitrous when you're at the track. actually I think the tank in the bed looks pretty cool if you use a polished or carbon fiber bottle and billet brackets. mount it in the back of the bed on the passenger side behind the wheel well. It's really cool when the gearhead guys say do you have nitrous and you show them how it's hooked up to the intercooler and they ask you why you hooked it up to the radiator!

look at mccoys site and go under products and look at the aero brackets and the NOS tank. thats what I have except I use a nx bottle so it will hook up to my nx system

paint ball suppliers, welding supply companys, gas suppliers, or fire extinguisher refillers. paintball suppliers around me charge about 1.50 per pound. I don't think that's too cheap but I haven't found it any better. I'm open to suggestions if anyone around Pgh. PA has any

Can you use the N2O bottle for CO2 too?

Later,

you can, but you can't.

some places here in the states are pretty anal about filling bottles with what gas they are attended for.

I hear you, thanks for the info. I'll make a little legwork around this topic here...

you guys all say that it will freeze the water in the a/w setup but if your mat temps are 150 degrees at the end of the track and you already are usin a puller and putting it through the heater core. How can this n-tercooler sprayer not help. You know itis not going to take alll of the heat out of the intercooler. DO you really thinkt hat it willl get to be 32 degrees and actually freeze the hot liquid inside?

the nitrous or co2 will make the lower IC much, much colder. the capcity of it is not very large and the pump does not move things all that fast even if you have a bigger pump. the chances of it causing ice crystals are pretty high even with some antifreeze in it. benchracing is great but the only real way of knowing is for someone to try it. It was originally developed for air to air systems but it may work on h2o units too. we'll never know till someone tries it.

try spraying the IC down with a co2 fire extinguisher before you lay out the money for an n-tercooler system first and see what happens. If you start seeing leaks, the nitrous made it so cold that it broke the IC. some other things to try would be ice chips n the upper as well as alcohol mixtures. anyathing that will stay colder than water
