weird accel problem...

ok, so i put an K&N intake and some ign stuff on my 93 TY, now when i try floor it for hard accel, it hits minimal boost and dies, and sounds like its gurgling under water. WTF is going on, is the stock wastegate opening way early? I used to be able to accel thru several gears and now it just dies out and starts slowing down.

Any thoughts? I am new to modding Ty's, sorry...

Thanks,
G

I had the same problem. It ran fine until you gave it gas. I think its a bad coil but I have not messed with it yet. Also check to make sure you did not burn through a plug wire.

Re: weird accel problem...

What kind of plugs did you put in? If the answer is "Platinum", that's your problem. Did the truck do this before you did the tune up?

Re: weird accel problem...

Did you also replace the cap, rotor and wires? If there's a leak in the insulation on one of the wires it will arc to ground and cause a misfire.

X2 on plug gap... They should be gapped at 035. You could be getting spark blow out if there's too much gap.

Aldlcables.com is where I get aldl cables . Any amount of digging should have uncovered tunerpro as the clear choice . It is free but the registration is reccommended to support past and future development .
