Went to 1/8 mile

Well the new motor isnt quite up to it yet.

20psi
16deg timing

rt .740
60' 1.72
1/8 et 7.41
1/8 mph 97.75

Man it pulls good in second but for some reason it is pulling 16-18 deg in 1st.
Once it gets going the knock goes away. Oh well back to the drawing board.

False knock ? Maybe something is loose or touching the frame.

Yeah, it's gotta be false. That's better mph than I pulled on my 7.38 pass (I was 96.8 mph).

Re: Went to 1/8 mile

I searched to find what your mods are. How did you like the 422 cam? What's the powerband feel like compared to stock? Pros/Cons?

Did you port your exhaust manifolds? Who did the head porting - 275/218 sounds really nice!

Oh yeah, how much different was the power at pump gas (15 psi) levels over your old motor? Thanks,

Re: Went to 1/8 mile

Well I will have to get it tuned first before I can say for sure. Yes the manifolds have been ported. The heads were ported by Don Polk. He was killed in a 4wheeler wreck 3 weeks after he finished them. The power band is pretty good it spools the turbo good and I have reved it to 5900 and it has had NO sign of the power falling off. But for the price I would now go with one of the custom grinds that some of the vendors offer. I was reeealllyy wanting a cam that had a lumpy exuast note And this one Idles fairly smooth. As far as the power dif. I would say even untuned it pulls quite a bit harder. I went 7.9 at 89 on 13 psi
