What Am I Missing: Factory Radio Removal

Hi, the delco radio/tape player unit in my Syclone is not working: clock lit up, orange power wire is hot, fuses good, dead nada. I have the most of the dash apart, and CANNOT get the speaker/power connectors off-I mean, I can't even get to them. What life form got the radio in? What's the trick? The radio only pulls forward about an inch. Any advice?

TIA!
Roger

There are 2 sources of power to the radio. The orange is to the battery and hot all of the time (to remember the time and your stations). There is a fuzzed wire from your ignition that turns on your radio. Check your fuses..
