Time for some new rubber on the Ty.
BFG's on the Sy rocked in the winter and were decent in the summer.

BB search turned up crap...

What are people running for ultrahighperformance all seasons on stock rims these days?

Looks like the import brands can hold there own these days, somebody said something about sumitomo/khumo/something or other had some way badass all seasons.

tirerack had some stuff, but I am looking for EXPERIENCE.

Thanks a veritable fukload,

Cool!

Potenza so3
BFG G-force KDWS
Sears Vipers

I will see how these price out.

I was looking at the Pilot A/S vs the Sumitomo HTR+
There is like a 10% or less performance difference, and the HTR+'s are like $92 bucks vs the Pilot's $199!!!!!

Thanks folks...

I'd vote for the vipers, they're pretty cheap, seem to perform well, and you should be able to call some sears stores and find them. We called and got 'em put on, total was like 450$. They seem to generate a little more road noise than the BFG's that were on it before, though.

Thx Brad

I know this is from my experince with a dsm, but I did a search on tirerack.com, and it said that these tires would fit. Dunlop SP5000's. the were cheap(100$ from tire rack for 205/55/16's) had some good traction in the summer, are quite, ride good, and have good traction in the snow. Give them a try, and I'm willing to bet you won't be disapointed.

I looked on sears.com and they didn't have any 16" tires in the Vipers!!!
ARGH!

What was the cost/tire so that I can do apples to apples here...

The G-Forces I have were $94/tire after some dealing with Discount tire. I told them Tirerack had them for $95 (which they did at the time) and they beat the price. :D I think they are like $105 each now days

Tire's

Tire's

I had Kumho Ecsta's on my stock rim's and they hooked off the line pretty good and had good wearing characterisitic's. When the ZR-1's were installed, I went with Sumitomo HTRZ's in 40 profile. I can build 12 pound's of boost and launch with little wheel spin.

I dunno why they aren't listed there, but here is Sears part # 09535074
p245/50/h16.
I gave 89.95 apiece for them. The best thing about 'em is the tread width.Something like 9+inches on the road. You might find a cheaper tire, but I guaranteee it won't have a wider profile.

Did I mention they hook like a mofo? :D

Sell Out
I have Kuhmo's. Wet weather is nice. Snow traction isn't the as good as others I've had. Price was good.

Vipers have gotten quite a reputation around here. I know a few people outside of SyTyLand running them and like them.

I remember our own Tookycat having some problems finding them - either the Z-rating was getting discontinued or something like that. Might want to look him up - he is always willing to help out.

Will,

Michelin Pilot XGT V4 are probally the best all season tire that I've had. marvelous wet handling and damn skippy dry handling.

Nobody has mentioned these yet, and I know im not the only one sportin them. Definately, check them out though.

I love the Vipers. That's all I'll ever use ... You can find them only at Sears and NTB. Call your local store. Don't believe everything you read on a web site. Most companies leave stuff off of websites. Don't fret. Just call them.

The Vipers are the widest 245 on the market. They really good and they last ...

Price for performance, there's no contest.
