What convinces you to go or not go?

Curious what part of nats (or any syty/car event) is the reason you go.
I started going because of the trucks, then I went for the people, then I went for tradition, and then I went for the shenanigans. Now I'll go for a repeat of all these reasons.

I come home after every event with my cheek bones hurting from laughing and smiling so much. It IS that great of a time!

There are more stories than I can list that have come from my many trips to Nationals over the years. I should be some kind of spokesman for these events, or maybe get some kind of "most nats attended without owning a truck" plaque or something. I'm fairly certain I got the bewbie prize at one of the KC Nats (In the middle of a corn field at that). I think that was the same year I found out I do NOT, in fact, like to party. There is a picture somewhere of my backside hanging out of a sunroof at a national event, I wasn't even impaired at the time.

Maybe I should buy a truck of my own one of these years?!?!?

I haven't been to a Nat's or shindig. To me I go to a show/event to see cars/trucks. So for me to drive xxx mile to see less than a 100 vehicles wouldn't be worth it to me. Now if say it was in Minneapolis when car craft was happening I would go to that. Then there's another 3-4 k in vehicles to look at also. As for drag racing, not really my thing. I'd rather see cars turn left/right.

I'll never forget when Dobrick walked out into the parking lot wearing just a cowboy hat and a pair of black pantyhose. I still feel bad for grabbing his ass as we walked back into the hotel

I go because it is a damn good time, the trucks are meant to be driven and I have a lot of friends that I get to see.

#1: The People. Some of the coolest peeps on the planet. If a group of SyTy peeps wanted to have a truck-less nationals I would still go.

#2: The trucks. They brought us together. I have a truck. You have a truck. I like seeing innovative things done, all out race trucks, modified trucks, bone stock trucks, low mileage trucks, and sometimes broken trucks. Gives me motivation with my own pile.

Will there be a 'theme hat' or hidden messages only visible by hot steam? Moustache rides?

Re: What convinces you to go or not go?

If you're not there I'm gonna hunt you down. :D

It's only a 10 or 12 hour drive.

FWIW never seen a Teal SGT @ Nats.

Im almost certain there was 2 on a trailer in 05, I know one was red, the other teal.

I'd consider going again when it's within a reasonable driving distance for the majority of us here, not just one region. Bowling green sounds like a great spot, puts the long travel on the west coast guys.

Most interested in seeing some competitive racing brackets by region/ or group, GAST, FAST, TASTE so on and so forth. I think it would promote more local perticipation to group togather to the NATS for such competition along with all the other things listed by other's. Great group of people, at least thats the way I remember 05

I'm going but a little scared of driving it 4,000 miles round trip! The people are a huge contributing factor along with seeing all the trucks and all the work and passion that has been put into them. The people on here are also very helpful and I bet if anyone truck breaks down the community will help them get it right back up!
