Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

attached my exhaust system minus the dp
threaded the spark wires with the protective boots
connected fuel lines
attached front prop and torqued up all 8 bolts
attached rear prop and torqued up all 4 bolts (27 ft lbs - wtf? AND they're tiny)
tidied up PCS wiring harness and epoxied the plug for prop shaft clearance

narrowed down my list of things to do before starting it up.....

sounds exciting

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

I started to install my monomax shocks in the front and put my new slotted rotors on with C6 rims but what a pain in the ass getting the new shock in so I didnt even get one side done. The old one came out fairly easy because it was shot so I could compress it to get it on but the new one not so much and I havnt figure out a way to get it in yet. Any ideas or any links to anyone who has done this yet? Thanks

I'm dropping my Canyon off tomorrow to get a Rhino Liner installed, so I pulled the Ty into the parking lot so I could temporarily store the old drop-in liner in my garage. I'm just glad she started without a jump.

I installed a new ignition lock, new door locks, new radiator, new cigarette lighter, picked up my new KYB front shocks, picked up my new Clifford Alarm system, picked up a new gear reduction starter, ordered a new throttle cable and put a new water inlet valve on my washing machine LOL and that was all after work today. Oh, and I had to bypass the heater core because when I installed the radiator it couldn't handle the new pressure and started leaking on the floor of the cab. Thank god it's hot here in Houston and I don't need het right now!

Just got back from a few highway runs, one minor coolant leak (loose clamp) can't wait until the weather clears up and the track opens, looking forward to some 11 second runs this year

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Added a quart of synthetic lucas oil additive to try and quieten down my noisy motor......to no avail. I don't have the ability to take heads off and check lifters/rockers so I will just keep driving it and hope for the best even though my knock sensor is freaking out. The Ty will be my DD until 01/10 so I hope she hangs on. It's a shame because I just spent $6000 not even 5 months/3000 miles ago on this built motor(and $14000 on the Ty a few months before that). I would sell my 40,000 mile dream Ty but would lose alot of $$ in this bad market so I will cross my fingers and drive it like a grandma until then and hope for the best. If she blows she blows :rotf:. Anyone in the Sarasota, FL area want to look at it and give me a diagnosis?? This Ty has made me so mad since I have owned it, now it just makes me :(:(. I purchased it from a dis-honest seller and got a motor built from a dis-honest builder in NJ......it just wasn't meant to be :nopity:.

Sorry for the rant. Can you believe my Italian bike is leaps and bounds more reliable than my GMC?

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

connected W2A upgrade intercooler - too tight for the GT45R :( need options
grounded battery, hung rear exhaust
connected starter/alt to battery and power distribution block

ECM has power, int lights came on, indicators worked (very fast flash), rear brake light was on.

Got the old click from the purple wire syndrome - need to check some fuses.

Planned to throw more money at it tomorrow....new battery and a day of removing electrical gremlins.

IT RUNS!!!!! I got my new Syclone fired up today for the first time. When I bought it, it was literally 20 below, and I wasn't going to mess with it in the freezing cold. The battery and battery tray were out, and the terminal on the positive battery cable was gone. So I got a new one on there this morn, new battery, and it fired right up.

I'm now making a list of stuff to get for it, so I can clean it up a little and start driving it. It needs a few things to get it ready to go, but then again, I got the truck for free, so I can't complain. ;)
