Picked up the new bushings for the control arms, upper and lower, on both sides and for the front sway bar. Just need to get some shocks and then swap out the old for the new. ;)

Started on the Ty's front end rebuild, steering box swap, and steering shaft replacement. Got the upper ball joint broke loose, tie rod off before the 95 degree heat and humidity drove me out of the garage.

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Reinstalled CD player, intake tube and new Optima battery that I got under warranty (replaced at month 29 on a 36 month warranty). Pressurized the fuel lines and fired it right up for the first time in half a year. Opened up the butterfly on my cutout and spooled up the old BFT a few times. Shut it off, covered it back up and pondered if I even want to drive it this year...

Stab it and steer it
Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Yesterday actually, fired the truck after having the trans apart, TC checked. All main bearings changed (rear thrust was worn for some unknown reason). Did some detailing of engine compartment wiring, loom, zip-ties etc. Truck seems to run smoother for whatever reason. Will go racing Monday and see how it pulls.

Get to it! I made a little more progress today. Got the upper arms off both sides, pulled tie rods off. Need to do the idler arm, replace ball joints and might start burning bushings tomorrow... I need a jeep steering shaft and I will start in on the steering box swap.

That Just Happened
Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

I put a new fuel pump and Ractronix harness in my TY. What a PITA to do in the driveway.

The picture of a dedicated SyTyr's garage: Jack stands, truck disassembled, both hoods up, and [not pictured] no big-ass hurry to ever get it done.

Love your blu/gry. I always have. Good to see you working on the trucks, and posting a little again, Daron.

Hey thanks Dave. I have a goal to make progress hopefully each day but am not stressing over it. Its nice to actually enjoy working on them vice trying to conform to a deadline. As for dedication, I have been considering buying a new Z06; but those thoughts are neutralized when I take the Sy out for a drive. I am weird I guess.

And thanks for the Ty love. Its still in amazing shape, needs a few small rust spots along the rear window channel fixed, front fenders replaced and then it will get a repaint. Frame and underside look awesome. I think we will just drive it for another 100,000 miles

I Love My Ty's
Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Started to mod the spindles for the LS1 brake conversion.

My truck needs new balljoints so I guess that I will replace the balljoints, tie rods, hubs, bushings.

Figured I would just do it all at once.
