For three days I've been trying to put new motor mounts in the Sy. #@$%ing pain in my a$$!!!!!! Drivvers side was seperated and fell out but the passenger side is still attached. Motor mounts suck!!! Definately staping the engine.

Drove it to a car show in Kalamazoo for most of the day, then went to the track for a shakedown pass or two. Definitely a different animal!

I was undecided on making passes but going with my friends that were making passes, but peer pressure got the best of me!

First pass was a 'getting a feel' for her once more. The tune was safe and I am still getting used to the new boost controller. Left at 5# and got a 1.67 60' and let out of it before the eighth. Got me a 7.081 at 104.8mph. Next pass I made a couple small changes to the timing map at the launch and left at 7#. I stayed in it to the eighth and slammed the brakes (no roll cage) and did a 1.63 60' 6.781 at 108.2mph. This was with 20# of boost and ramping full boost in over 2 seconds. I was on my regular street tires (225/60-16 Firestone Wide Ovals).

Sure glad its together...it feels great!

Why not take some pride in your truck Richard and wipe all that grease and grim off before you install it. Geez!

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Installed a brand new heater core in the Aspen since it was convenient to do. Installed a new AC delete heater pan on the outside of the firewall. Bought some ChromeMoly exact matched paint and touched up the small scratches on the firewall, although they will never be seen with the engine installed.

Bought brand new bolts last night to use with the coil-over shocks. Didn't like the way the stock bolts stuck out 5/8" past the nut. They will go on today along with the 1/2 shafts and 2 new wheel hubs.

Getting real close to setting the Bowtie in place :). Was more complex than I thought though with all the aftermarket components on the truck (MSD ignition, MSD blaster, Aluminum engine oil cooling box piped to radiator coolant, aluminum radiator, A/A removal that I just installed last year, extensive wiring for multiple monitoring through guages, yada/yada). It will be worth it in the end though!!!!!!!!!!

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Started mocking up my Kenne Bell Air/Air today. Have to fabricate the lower pipes. Monday I picked it up from berzerker's house. Took it over there on Saturday to put in my TE45 turbo, which ended up being me holding a light while he did all the work, fighting with bolts/nuts that hadn't been off in 12+ years. Gave up at midnight when we realized I didn't have a garret drain flange for the new turbo because I am a dope and didn't think about it. He ended up taking parts off the turbo for his truck and finishing the install on his day off while I was at work on Monday. I owe him big time.

Next up, finish A/A install, figure out an intake setup (no room with the new turbo, even with a cobra elbow), fuel pump and Racetronix harness, battery relocation, engine tie-down then tuning. All before Nats and I will be on vacation most of July. Gonna be interesting.

I have a built x-fer case with your name on it. Should be able to see it without a engine covering it by next Thursday evening.

Adjusted the front suspension, wanted a tad higher right was too rough. Installed baby seat bracing, took it for a drive. Still have to get the tbars to sit the way I like, the off for and an alignment and new idler arm

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Installed the engine torque strap I got from SYCLONE#1531. Excellent piece, I would recommend it for anyone not running solids. Stared at it for about twice as long as it took to install the engine strap wondering how I am going to fit an intake with the new turbo.
