UK annual inspection regs have changed this year to include correct operation of ABS light. So, out with instrument cluster to find out why mine has never worked. The reason was pretty clear - the bulb had been removed. WTF? Why would anyone do that, unless it was staying on. I put a new bulb in and hoped for the best but, sure enough, the light stayed on. A quick search on here brought up Dave P's ABS troubleshooting guide. I'm sure no mechanic but I followed it through step-by-step and now have an ABS light working just as it should - genius (Dave, not me)! While I had the hood up I replaced the vac lines as well. 2 steps closer to a fully functioning Ty :)

Hopefully I put the last coat of primer on the front clip today. One more time blocking the front and with the exception of the hood, it will be ready to spray. The Goodmark hood quality was not what I was led to expect, but hopefully it has finally been straightened up adaquately. That may take a bit more work to be fully straight. I need to schedule some booth time I believe.

well, i was tuning on my laptop today. toook it for a drive. came home. did some more tuning. blah blah.

THEN i left my house to go meet two friends that have evo's. i forgot my laptop to download my latest bin. so i back into my driveway and my truck shuts off and i hear crackling and smell burning rubber.....HOLY SHIT MY TRUCK HAD A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. thank god i was home and had a wrench handy to disconnect the battery!

it turns out that the batt cable that goes up my firewall got rubbed really hard by the pass front tire when turning. it cut the cable exposing it to the bracket/firewall. i almost shyt my pants.

gonna have to repair that. insulate it properly. and i may wrap the dp all the way to were the cat would be. so i don't melt the wb wire.

Got the intercooler back from the welders and bolted up. Made a scoop & painted it to match the cladding. Then started the tube fabbing & fitting.

Also cracked the drivers rear corner cladding trying to re-fit it. Dad is gonna drop it off at the painters tomorrow morning.
Hoping the supercharger makes it back this week.

Still trying to make the Tacoma meet next Saturday, if I don't explode first.:kboom:

YOU LUCKY LUCKY MF. I gotta get me a kill switch - imagine being out there without a wrench?

Where the hell did you route the battery cable that it was rubbed by the tyre though???

Sorry about your cladding :(

What was the final decision on the logo for the plate on your intake?

Love that truck!

Hey Mark, Was maybe thinking this

But the guy that said he would do it is blowing me off. He did a crappy job of mounting the cladding, so i wonder if it's for a reason. :squint:

i don't have fenderwells and the truck is pretty low. when i went lock to lock right it hit the cable which made it rub into the bracket :rant::rant::rant:stupid i know. but it could have been worse.

Installed LMC headliner yesterday. Perfect fit and plastic backing (vs. styrofoam stock).

If I can do it...anyone can. Don't waste time getting the stock foam one re-upholstered. This one was about $190 delivered.

Old and new side by side (blackberry photo). The two wires on the left are marking the handle holes.

Nice, but for anyone that wants to do it themselves it's easy and much cheaper. I did mine with black suede for under $30

True. But some will find that the the styrofoam backing breaks down over time. Mine was in pieces, especially near the PS visor hole. :dunno:

Time is a factor too. I don't have enough time to strip, clean, re-cover the original backing. It took all of 30 minutes to install the LMC unit...leaving hours of free time to do other stuff. So, when you factor how much time is worth (especially on weekends), it's a pretty good deal.

Put some brand new bilstein shocks on the front and rear. Truck was a little bouncy before so this should tighten it up a bit!
