What did you do to your SyTy today? (part 2)

Re: What did you do to your SyTy today? (part 2)

Since I recently crapped out the CV on the propshaft, I figured while it was up on jackstands I'd tackle a few other things I've had on the back Burner.

Took the lower IC out for dutchTY replacement. While that was out I saw how easy it is to take the crossover pipe put to wrap it. Hell since that was out of the way the steering box may as well come out for the ZQ8 replacement and jeep steering shaft. Now that all that is out I am looking at fixing a oil leak too. Had al the other parts stockpiled. Now I gotta get a replacement propshaft... It may be up on stands until the next pay day.

Replaced my negative battery cable and hooked everything backed up after Don W. and sly dvl helped me out in my thread about no power before the holidays. She fired right up and she lives again...at least until she decides to give me grief again. :rotf:

Installed door internals and windows. Removed ABS pump and bent and flared new lines. Dash goes back in tomorrow.

Got the ZQ8 steering box in, and quickly realized I got the wrong Jeep steering shaft from the pick and pull (my flawed research). So I am gonna go with the Astro Van steering shaft(gotta hit up the PNP or parts yard again). Moved on to the turbo drain line oil leak. Wow what an adventure. I decided it would be easy to do if I disconnected the coolant line that's below it. You know, the one with the 3" orange section of flex hose. To do that I thought, why not take out the starter to access that hardline easier. So, I start disconnecting the battery....and in the process, I drop the brass side post terminal beneath the fricking battery tray . The battery completely comes out as does the battery tray. Terminal retrieved, I move on to removing the starter. In that task I snapped the little 8mm terminal off. Got more pissed and bought the 1996 Silverado mini starter. So I replaced the terminal lug, using good heat shrink on the wire end of it, and installed the new starter. Tried to make more progress putting stuff back in, and moved forward to the now heat wrapped crossover pipe. You know, it almost fits in 180 degrees from the way it belongs. Once I figured that out, and got it installed I called it quits on the Typhoon and went to help a friend with his cars. Working on his 1954 Ford truck was WAY easier.

I drove it today!!!

Checking the new turbo set up. It was freezing, so performance was OK.

After finally getting my clusterfukerry of wiring figured out, I was finally able to get the new gauges to work and illuminate. While the cluster is out, going to go ahead and get some LED's to replace on the HVAC side and the back of the cluster to illuminate mo' betta. Then gotta address the HVAC issue before putting it all back together.

Also installed the rear seat flap which I have had sitting in the back of the truck for the last year or so.

Would have accomplished more today but I had to fix the front fascia of my GF's Sebring since she decided to pull up over a curve the other day and onto some rocks.

Gauges look great. How'd you get the blue color?

They're speedhut gauges. Black with cobalt blue. Should match my pillar gauges well as they light up the same color and my stereo is also blue when lit. I should have ordered the overlay gauges without a boost gauge since I have one on the pillar.

That's exactly what I need. I have cobalt autometer gauges and have been thinking of matching the dash gauges. Where can I get them?
