what do i do next?? use a 60 lb bin????

ok ...i am having a problem.... i found the ads, and xdf files off of code 59, but i am running the 58 code. i downloaded the stock motor 50 lb bin for the ultimate, from tooky's website.

problem is the truck stumbles, and falles on it's face unless you feather the throttle. i have tried like 6 different bins from the 50 lb setup.....no difference!

funny thing is it runs the same as when the stock injector ultimate was tried with the 50 lb injectors

i am currently running e-85 .

when the stock injector ultimate was used with the stock injectors, the truck ran great!
Ok.gif

i double checked each time the bin was uploaded, and it verifyed each time.

i also unplugged the ostrich, then tried to start...no start......just to make sure the truck wasn't in limp home mode.

my injectors were from viscious v6?? used 50 lbers

but.....they all were scribed with 58.0 or 58.1 ?????

so should i use a 60 lb bin??

i just wish i could use the t3 24 stock injector bin, but change the injector size to 50 lb in the chip...is this possible??

so does anyone have a 50 lb, or a 60 lb bin that would be a great starting place??

i believe you need to add about 30% more fuel. table f29 i think

I am confused, you have 50# injectors correct?
Your running e85?

You tried 50# ultimate bins with bad results?

Do you not see your combination is different than any bin you will find. I don't know of any bin tuned for e85 available.

Time to learn to do some tuning. Be careful although most items in xdf for 59 will work on 58 bins, there are some that won't and can confuse you. Why not download the 58 xdf,ads files which are also posted in their own section on code59 site?

Do you have a wideband to tell you what is going on?

Re: what do i do next?? use a 60 lb bin????

i have tried the 58 bins, till i was blue in the face, no dice, not even in the ball park

so i went to the 59 files, and ironically wyosyclone 40 lb bin has been the best so far......

all others will only idle, and hard to start.

the 40 lb bin fires instantly, idles perfectly, still stumbles, but about half as much....

unfourtentaly i dont have a wideband yet, (money is tight)

it sucks, but i am doing this on my desktop, loading it into the ostrich, then taking it out to the truck.......sucks, but it works...kinda like burning a chip each time, but much faster.

Arent you approaching the matter backwards by fully converting to e85 and then having to wait for the wb 02 ? Is it safe to assume you cant datalog either if you are forced to use the desktop ? Why risk even running your truck on that combo with so many unknown factors ?

because this motor is on it's way out....sooooo it it pops o well

the kicker is the truck ran like a scalded dog on t2 22 with e-85, and the base fp turned up to 62 with the vac line on, 70 with it off.

like 12.50 scalded dog, and no meth, and a weak motor!:D

Re: what do i do next?? use a 60 lb bin????

E85 needs more fuel to run correct, right? so if your putting in a 50lb bin thinking its getting more fuel then your backwards. wyosyclones chip runs better because its technically richer because its for 40lb inj. i bet if you put in the stock inj tune with the 50lb inj it would run better. I think? now thats just idle and drivability, dont know about boost.

Rob's 40# bin is likely leaning it out a bunch. So are the 33# bins, likely.

You need a richer than stock stock bin.

If it likes the t2-22, why not pull that bin out of the Ultimate, and use that as a base?

Without a wide-band though, you're really wasting your time... there's really no way you can know what's going on.

It really sound like your taking shots in the dark. I would get yourself a WB02 and then do it right.

yes sir! 50 lb injectors from viscous v6

with the t2-22 ultimate 33lb tune the truck runs pig ritch!!

i have tried all 4 of the starter bins, and the truck seems to like the #3 tune and #4 tune

but wyosyclone's 40 lb bin seems to be the best.....

ok, which table do i change to tell the computer what size injectors that i have??

basically i just want to play with one table at a time, starting with idle, and most importantly off idle transition and curing my stumble

how will you know if its stumbling from being too rich or lean in the idle areas of your f29x ?

It isn't just that easy. Even if you did the math and added a true inj. constant to any ecm, dfi, etc each size injector has a different flow curve.

You can play with the EGR constant but how will you even know where your at without a wb or datalog?

You don't need to change the chip. If you did, it would no longer work.

The only reason it does work at all, is that you're forcing the 50# injectors to deliver roughly 2 times the fuel that they normally would. Which is just about what E85 wants. If you set it to 50, you'd have to go back to regular gas, as it's now delivering half the fuel.

As Jeff said, it isn't as simple as that, in reality. There is much more that needs to be tuned to get a given set of injectors to work with a given fuel.

This is really a fairly useless pursuit.... if you want to blow it up, go find a 100 horse dry shot. You'll have a lot of short-lived fun.

Re: what do i do next?? use a 60 lb bin????

ok.. at this time i am going back to the stock injectors, and the ultimate.....temporaraly, at least untill i have a laptop, with a usb, AND a wideband....

i feel like i am chasing my tail, and am sick of it.

a buddy of mine is supposed to be getting some older laptops for free, and i will be getting one.

thanks to all that have chimed in, and helped..thanks for forcing me to see the light, and do it right.

on a positive note, i did learn loads of things about the tables, and how the bin files/tunerpro, code 59 works.

thanks to all.
