Jack i will check on that check in the morning to see what has happned here. I mailed it out with two other items that apparently have not made it to their destination. As far as how fast i dunno. I just know that my friends use them to tune our waverunner motors. They work well with them. I just figured it would help us out.

I am not sure what part you are refering to on precisions site? I am just curious as to how fast you are thinking about building the ty.

Unclear goals... unclear results

With clear goals & budget determined... and with our help on the board, you'll achieve them.

I really don't have any goals. Basically if i want soemthing i get it.

Are you a female? Do you watch the Home Shopping network or infomercials?

cripes.. no more helping you unless you set some goals & budget..

Code what?
Soo... If you wanted a very large turbo, say for instance a 61 then you would buy it and install it on your Typhoon without the proper modifacations to support that size Turbo just because you wanted that turbo.

To acheive your goals you need to set some goals buddy.

I think what Brian's trying to say is that if you don't know... just don't throw money out to throw money out... these trucks aren't like most vehicles were you can just put money into them and you're done... They command time and respect... a base knowledge to start from... and more effort to build upon... we're willing to offer advice and help... but what is it you really want... ?? These trucks are fast to begin with... certain steps and budget costs influence the next logical steps or hierarchal order of advance to modify...

As for example if you plan to purchase a larger turbo then you'll need to upgrade your torque converter for a higher stall than stock to use the benefits of the larger turbo.... With the purchase of a larger turbo you'll also have to consider the cooling required to preserve your new investment.. Steps like this are an idea of what to expect.. However it all depends on where you are starting from and what you have to spend at what point in time..

Get yourself an AIM account at AOL.com then contact some of experienced guys with knowledge.. read the posts that have come before you.. syty.org is a good source.. this board is a great source too.. acquire a base knowledge... then maybe some goals will become a little more clear & refined...

you guys are talking to me like i don't have any mods. I have atr exhaust, dp, t-66, aux cooler, ultimate, walbro, cold air kit, aquamist, stall converter, tranny cooler, atr gate, hks bov, etc etc.... I just don't know what my goals are. I guess to go as fast as i can but not to loose reliability.

GM TURBO

Sell Out
I guess what I am asking - is what Waverunner uses a turbo to tune it. What are you looking at on the PT&E site you are interested in. I think THIS is the confusion - at least it was for me when I first read this post.

It seems you are asking a lot of questions about mods and what you can put on your truck - blah, blah, blah. What times are you running?

Reliabilty, Now there is a word that does not go with these vehicles very well, and you were going to put a nitrous kit on if these guys on the board did not speak up. You have a t-66 with stock heads, hows that work ? Are you running a lot of boost? Have you ever ran the ty at a track, just curious what your times are becuase i have a ty also.

Nope.. not trying to talke to you like you don't have any modifications... just in that you can't throw money at these trucks and expect them to just drive.. because if you don't have some mechanical base background or inherent understanding/knowledge then these trucks tend to be unreliable... that's why I was saying you can't just throw money out at them... YOu have to know what you want to do ... set a goal or goals... take certain steps... and at the same time maintain/tune your truck...

People who bought everything in the KB catalog have tons of mods as well. They most likely had the same goal as you. Look at where it got them.

BG's advise is sound. Decide on your goals, then either design your own setup or mimic someone else's that has been there and done that. Deciding on what you want as you go along buying parts is a sure way to blow tons of money and wind up with a lot of headache's.

Fly the t-66 is mounted on a custom dp that my turbo guy made for me. I bought the Ty 7 months ago and it has been in the shop the last 6 1/2 of it's life. So as far as time slips, you got me????? She feels quick. She has some type of knock problem wich hoefully will be solved in a day or so. Well what are some other peoples goals? Maybe then i can say "this is what i want to do". I am not trying to be stupid or a pain in the ass. The point of this post was that the link that i posted went to an egt guage. My friends use them to tune their wavrunners. I just thought since the ad said that it was NEW that maybe you guys would be interested in it. Thats all, sorry.

First thing you need to take into consideration and set is a time ET you wish to achieve and your budget.. I'd hope that this isn't going to be your daily driver..

For myself.. fastest I think I ever want to go is high-mid 11's.. and I doubt I should even be doing that considering my back after I wrecked my vr4 years ago... Anything lower than 12's will necessitate an engine rebuild most likely. No stock components cept for the crank.. So consider a good engine builder.. total should be upwards of $5000-7000 for the motor... PTE turbo downpipe package will run you about $1595, add on $1000 atr headers, $1000 for a front mount intercooler, $500 for a stall converter, and possibly $2000 for a built tranny.. Total cost low end is around $11,000.. this doesn't include labor for the install.. tuning, shipping charges, gauges, ATR exhaust, custom chip by brian green ($2000 if you want speedpro instead), a rollbar, harness, fuel pump, labtop w/ datamaster, small misc parts, or any custom work.. finished I'd say around $15,000 ... good ball park figure...
