What is this and where does it mount?

Sorry, don't know how to search for an answer for this one.

When I got the Ty, it always had an electrical box with wires going to it that just sat on the pass side, rear floor board. The wires go up into the tranny tunnel under the center console. The back of this box has a metal bracket bolted to it and it looks like that bracket should bolt to something else. I have the console out and I don't see any where obvious that this should go.

Here is the box:

And here is where the wires go:

Any help would be appreciated.

Remote unlock as in push a button on a key fob and the doors unlock? I didn't know they came with that feature. I only got 2 keys when I took delivery of the truck.

This would be a cool thing to have. Would you get a new key fob from the dealer? Or would this one from ebay work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BRAN...3QQihZ013QQcategoryZ33723QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

And wheels....under the center console where? Like under the big mounting plate thing? I don't think there is room under there for it. I agree that it looks like it should be under the console somewhere.

I dont remember exactly, but it bolted to a plate somewhere near the rear of the console. Underneath or behind the plastic storage pocket thing.

Re: What is this and where does it mount?

I think you guys got it for me. The back of the plastic bucket thing at the rear of the console.....the one that flip up cover is over.....has 2 holes in the back of it that are kind of offset from each other. It looks like this box might bolt to that. It would sit kind of cockeyed but looks like it would fit under the main console.

When I got this truck, it was obvious someone had this console out. It was all just slapped together with no screws holding it together. This is kind of like putting a puzzle together when you don't have a picture of what it should look like when done.

Thanks again.

100% sure that is keyless entry box.

Typically it just lays under console, have not seen one bolted in yet, although they may have been from GM.

They do bolt to the back of the console bucket, uses 2 pan head interior screws. That is how they came originally.
From a project I decided to scrap.. this is the stock mount

I have an extra key fob if you need it. I'll Sell it for what I paid + shipping. Easy to reprogram to work for your truck to. Try a search here for which ALDL locations to use with the jumper wire. Send me a PM if you're interested.
