Wife and I are splitting up. This means I am moving into an apartment with a room mate. I can have the covered parking but I hate to park the SY that way. even with my car cover. I only use it once in a while and would hate to see it left exposed all day. Plus I ammoving far away so I need a more reliable car. Thinking of selling for a Sti or used corvette or ws6. Not sure of the trucks worth. You cna see my mods in sig. I fixed all know issues as far as I can tell. Zq8 box was bad so I put the stock box back in. leak looks to be fixed. paint is stock and i would say outside is a 7 out of 10. inside is a 9 out of 10. 95k with new l35 ported, top end, rpm stage 3, new 80E... You can see my mods for all I have done. Lest the 150 miles on mods. Not for sale yet just guaging on options. I hate to let her go. I put so much into her, but happiness comes first. Thanks

Stock sy with your milage goes for what 10-12K??

You have about 8-9K in mods? I think the 80e being the most desirable.

I would guess 15k?? Maybe a little more??

If I was lookin for a truck and having seen yours and the condition it's in, knowing what I know about them, if runnin good I would pay that or a little more.

You know the market sucks right now, but yours being the only one with a 80e should make it more desirable. Finding someone with enough cash that wants a modded truck will probably be difficult though.

My wife and I have been together since we were 18 but we have only been married for 4.
I wanted to make sure we were "ready". LoL
If she wants out I will be sleeping in the Ty before I sell it. lol

I would hate to be in your shoes, you just got it all done and the way you want it and now you gotta part with it.
That is just as heartbreaking.

Unfortunately the market is low right now so the above guess that you will bring 15k is about where I sit. Honestly, it should bring 17 or 18. With those mods you would actually be better off stripping the truck, put it back to stock as far as you can and sell off the mods separately.

In the last couple years I have not really seen the mods sell the truck.
Most people would rather buy a SyTy first then learn about the mods later.

What I want it to be worth with those mods ~20

What I think it could sell for in this market ~13-15

and then it would probably sell for 11.5 after a month or two of trying to sell it and you get fed up/tired of waiting on it to sell.

Look at Brandon's (QuickStorm) Ty for a good example.

You and me man, looks like I'm going to end up selling it too . My reasons are a little less serious (parents want me to have somehting reliable for college) but it really does suck ass that I have to sell the one thing that made me happiest in life.

Damn dude, I don't even know what to say. That really sucks. I've been with my girl for over 3 years now and I couldn't imagine losing her, let alone after 15 years. Hope everything goes well otherwise and hate to see the SY go. Wish I had the money right now.

Good comparison, but Branden's wasn't running and had only motor work. I think the fact Gary's runs and drives makes such a hudge difference, he should be in a better position.

well we have been together since we were 15. Homm many marriages last 15 years. Let alone starting at 19?. We had a good run of it. Too many issues to work out.

Yeah, I know what I have into it but I figured what I can get is 2 different things. I would think the 80e mod is worth a lot. I have "LO jack" so maybe i will just try my luck. Full coverage insurance for 18k so if someone does steal it...

Dont take my numbers for word by any means.

I'd love to see you get 22k - 24k for that truck, I know there is more than that into it, but I am comparing that to todays market.
18k would be my low end on the insurance.
I would do an agreed upon value policy at 20k based on mods alone.
Thats basically how mine is setup. :tup:

Obviously you need to judge what works for you best and what your truck is worth to you. For me it wouldn't be worthwhile to sell my Sy for market value or even a high market price. Why, because I would end up buying another truck and then have to spend the same amount of $ and time recreating what I have already and done (and attempting locate/replace some of my discontinued parts) I would recreate my current Sy to the part if I could with the only exception being the transmission.

Don't sell the truck man!

Hell put it in storage,that shouldn't be too expensive.

That is YOUR truck,you built it,you own,you love it.

IMO it would be a horrible mistake to just piss away all the time and money you have in that truck.


Just put it away for awhile,get your head on straight,Chill.


Oh yeah for value if it was my truck I would not take less than 18k and that would be only if I liked the buyer.

I mean as a last resort.Not the first one.

a stock Sy with 95k miles is 10-12k??? wow, i got a heck of a deal on mine then.


i would pay between 14k and 16k for your truck. Even though its beautiful, the market is kinda crappy right now.

Hey Gary,
Really sorry to hear about all this - I went through it myself a long time ago and it wasn't fun... but, I'm glad it happened cuz my life wouldn't be what it is today.

If I were you I'd find a way to keep the Sy, even if it's for a few months while your head clears out - friend's house (pull the chip!), storage, whatever. Go buy a cheap car that gets good mileage, drive that for a while until the dust clears, and then make your decision on the Sy....

When I went through my divorce I felt like I had to clean everything out and make all these decisions at once.... turned out that I wish I would have waited a bit to make some of the decisions. Good luck in the future....

My boss is so cool. He is buying me a new van and said I can use it on the weekends. Just if I can fill it up once in a while using my own money and not the gas card.
The person I am moving in with said I can have her covered spot. I will put the sy there with my noah cover on it.
BTW a storage garage around here cost 265$ a month.
