The truck obviously does not match the seller's description of it and now HE is irate with me! The only thing that irritates me more than somebody trying to screw me is when they claim that I'm the one screwing them. If he'd just be honest in his description and show realistic pictures, he'd get a buyer that would follow through... one with $5k looking for a project.

Even at 5K, that truck would take a lot of $$$ and time to make right. I.e: center console lid, brace, both door panel arm rest, headliner, tires, vacuum lines, tune up, tranny? It was stated it shifted like a Prius, not good. Turbo/motor? smoked under acceleration, I won't even waste any more time listing shit wrong with this truck. Even if it was bought for 5K, I bet there is at least another 5K needing to be spent on it if not more. So by that time you have 10,000 in a whopping POS, nice trucks are selling in that range, and it will never be cherry again. If I was you I would lay out a few more $ and get a nice one, instead of one like this. Good luck in your search, and before you bid on any more sight unseen trucks, get a local to check it out for you. You owe TNphoon, he saved your ass here. be patient you will find a nice one, until that time be glad you were not suckered into this one.

I agree, this truck will probably never be "cherry." They have to be pretty far gone to not be worth $5k, but unless you're a jack of all trades, you'd definitely have more invested in this than it would ever be worth. Paint and bodywork alone would be $5k, and that's assuming no parts are needed.
I should have done a little more leg work before bidding, but I didn't see the auction until very near the end, so I was forced to trust the seller's (misleading) description. You're right, I owe TNPhoon big time... he saved me 2+ days of my time, a night at the local no-tell, whatever gas the Silverado would have blown through pulling an empty trailer from PA to TN and back and (judging by the seller's attitude so far) possibly bail. There's no way in hell this thing would have gotten on my trailer.
