whats the most common sparkg plug everybody is using? Im trying to create some tune up kits for raffle prizes atr home comming (cap rotor, plugs and wires) and need to know what spark plug I should include

Thats what I was thinking just wanted another opinion, I assusme the MSD wires will be fine also

Come on now, you should know better. The Ultra Spark from Autozone are the bestest.

Ah-ha.....hard to beat that price.
UR5s are in line with the stock heat range, so they are a direct replacement for a CR42TS. However, since most people tend to push higher boost and seem to battle spark knock on a regular basis, the UR6 offers a step colder plug.
A little educational info.....every "step" in a spark plug number heat range represents the plugs ability to remove heat from the combustion chamber (remember, plugs do much more than just light the fire, they also transfer combustion chamber heat to the block and onto the water jacket and so forth). Every number colder (lower in some brands (AC) and higher in some (NGK)), removes an additional 70-100 degC from the combustion chamber. This helps ward off pre-ignition, but also makes the plug more susceptible to premature fouling. So, you have to ride that line of cold but not too cold. It's more of an issue with marine and small engine plugs than it is with hi-perf cars/trucks (because we can just lean it out with the touch of a button and most trucks are monitored heavily).
So, after all that, it's really your choice on the plug heat range, but most people go colder if it's available. In fact, I sold 844 UR6s last year to you guys versus 76 UR5s.

I am going with CR42TS plugs and Taylor wires. I hope it works out nice.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with ACs. It's just that over the years, we've found the NGKs to handle our erratic idle and high boost needs a little better. The main thing (regardless of brand) is regular maintenance. How many people have come on here hunting down a solution to "break-up under boost" or "poor idle" claiming they did a recent tune-up, and come to find out that the plugs are 4 yrs old and a plug wire was laying on the DP.
Maintenance is your truck's best friend.

Hey Michael,
Thanks for the 'educational info' on the plugs.... I knew that colder plugs took heat out of the combustion chamber, but I didn't know they took out that much. I guess it's time for me to check out the plugs in my recently acquired Sy!
